Young adulthood is a distinct life phase marked by big decisions, new responsibilities, and shifting relationships. Assess logistics: confirm that they provide online sessions in your state or region, check availability that fits your schedule, and ask about session formats (video, phone, messaging). It’s reasonable to request a brief consultation to see whether the therapist’s style and approach feel comfortable.
Ask questions about treatment goals, what a typical session looks like, and how they track progress. Inquire about their experience with crisis management and referrals if additional services are needed. Feeling heard and respected from the first contact is a strong sign you’ve found a good match.
