Internal Family Systems (IFS) is a gentle, evidence-informed approach to therapy that helps people understand and heal the many “parts” that make up their inner world. IFS is also commonly used in therapy for trauma, anxiety, depression, and addiction because it offers a compassionate way to approach the parts that hold pain or drive reactive behaviors.
IFS can be helpful for couples and family work when partners want to understand conflicting impulses and learn how their internal parts influence interactions.
