Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships
Hello, my name is Dr. Julie Griffin and I am a Licensed Mental Health Therapist in Indiana and have 18 years of experience. I earned my under graduate degree and my Masters in clinical/counseling psychology at the University of Louisville. My masters program specialized with adults, forensics and a multitude of clinical disorders. I completed my Doctorate in Psychology at Spalding University in Louisville, Kentucky and this is where I broadened my focus to include Children, Adolescents, and Families. I became certified in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and worked in-home with Autistic and Developmentally Delayed children and teens. I have worked in group homes, private practice, schools, prisons, hospitals and community mental health facilities that included: adults, family, children/teens, substance abuse treatment programs, anger management, family reunification and parenting classes. I work with my clients to create an open and safe environment where thoughts and feelings can be shared without fear of judgment. My therapeutic approach is strength based with a multitude of therapeutic techniques that are guided and individualized to the needs of my clients. I have extensive trainings in trauma, substance abuse, cognitive behavioral therapy, family and play therapy. I believe mental health therapy helps the client find a balance between their mind, body, emotional and social factors in their life, so that they can function at their highest potential. I enjoy arts and crafts, games, and Legos. I especially love animals and have utilized several therapeutic animals in my work. I am amazed regularly with how intuitive animals can be and their ability to provide therapeutic relief.
I genuinely enjoy what I do and feel privileged to learn about human nature daily and to have clients that are willing to share not only their struggles but also their triumphs in session. Taking the first step to sign up for therapy can take courage and I want you to know that I am here for any support I can provide. I hope to earn the right to hear your story and look forward to working with you soon!
