Jude believes that each person is the expert of their own story and that clients hold strengths that can help them move through what feels overwhelming. She acknowledges that beginning therapy can take courage and values the commitment involved in taking that first step.
Her clinical experience includes work with sexual trauma, bipolar disorder and borderline personality disorder, and she has worked with couples. Jude is a trained EMDR therapist, a professional female abuse recovery coach, and trained in DBT. Her NHS experience includes time in a sexual assault centre supporting women and families, and she has also served as a clinical lead working with men who have been sexually assaulted.
Jude began her therapeutic career establishing a student counselling service in education and later spent around 15 years teaching therapy. She remained in adult education as head of service at a music college/university, where she supported young people with performance anxiety using brainspotting therapy. She is passionate about offering therapy that fits the individual rather than applying a one-size-fits-all approach, and she aims to build a therapeutic relationship in which people feel supported, heard, valued, challenged and respected.
Many people ask whether online therapy can truly help. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship struggles or navigating life changes, online therapy has been shown to be comparable in effectiveness to traditional in-person sessions.
A major benefit is flexibility – clients can choose the format that suits them best, whether that is video calls, phone sessions, live chat or in-app messaging. This flexibility makes it easier to fit therapy into a busy life or to access support from different locations.
All participating professionals are licensed therapists, and clients have the option to change therapists if they feel a different fit would be better. For many people, online therapy offers an accessible, effective route to address everyday mental health and relationship concerns.
