Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships
I am a humanistic psychotherapeutic counsellor with a faith in the human potential to develop in a positive direction. I believe we have our own path to cut through the woods in our unique life journey. In the counselling process I am a confidential companion for a part of your journey. I can help you make meaning of your experiences and in navigating your personal challenges.
I take a non-discriminatory, LGBTQI+ affirmative, experiential, Person Centred approach. I believe neurodiversity is a difference and not a disorder. I take a non-judgemental, relational, holistic approach, alive to all aspects of self and factors outside of self. I believe the body keeps the score and we all have experiential resources that can help us more than we may think. My approach is gentle and follows the client’s lead to what is discussed, that is curious about felt senses and learning from what we are experiencing in the moment.
Other people can and do help us feel loved and valued yet also the reverse. My approach recognises feelings of aloneness and how in our interior life we can agonise over our behaviours, choices and the quality of our relationships.
What has happened to us affects our way of being in the present, particularly in terms of adverse childhood experiences. Quite often our story of those experiences or an absence of a story are based on childhood decisions and strategies. However, I support clients in drawing on their own internal resources to live in the present and find closure to unfinished business.
I hold the BACP professional qualification at Post-Graduate level in Humanistic Psychotherapeutic Counselling from the University of Brighton. I am also professionally certified in online and telephony based counselling (Open University/BACP and The Online Therapy Institute); Working At Relational Depth (CARA) and Child Protection in Education (Educare). As a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy, I practice within their ethical framework.
I take a non-judgemental, relational, holistic approach, which is alive to all aspects of self and factors outside self; supporting a person’s forward momentum in simply being a person.

David Cuff is a humanistic psychotherapeutic counsellor who holds a strong belief in human potential to move in a positive direction. He describes the life journey as a unique path through the woods, and in the counselling process he acts as a confidential companion for part of that journey, helping people make sense of their experiences and navigate personal challenges.
He works from a non-discriminatory, LGBTQI+ affirmative, experiential, Person Centred framework and views neurodiversity as a difference rather than a disorder. His stance is non-judgemental, relational and holistic, attentive to all aspects of self and the factors outside the self that shape experience. He also works with the understanding that the body keeps the score and that people often have experiential resources that can be more helpful than they expect.
David’s approach is gentle and follows the client’s lead about what is discussed, staying curious about felt senses and what emerges in the moment. He recognises how feelings of aloneness and internal struggles over behaviour, choices and relationship quality can shape someone’s inner life.
He pays particular attention to how past events, including adverse childhood experiences, influence present ways of being. Often a person’s account of those events – or the absence of a coherent account – reflects childhood decisions and coping strategies. He supports clients in drawing on their own internal resources to live in the present and to find closure with unfinished business.
David holds the BACP professional qualification at Post-Graduate level in Humanistic Psychotherapeutic Counselling from the University of Brighton. Many people ask whether remote therapy can truly help. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties or navigating major life changes, online therapy has been shown to be just as effective as traditional in-person sessions for most people.
One major benefit is flexibility – clients can choose the format that suits them best, whether that is video calls, phone sessions, live chat or in-app messaging. This flexibility makes it easier to fit therapy into a busy life and to engage in ways that feel comfortable.
Each therapist involved is a licensed professional, and clients have the option to change therapists if they would prefer a different fit. For many people, online therapy offers a practical, accessible route to support and progress on their mental health journey.
