About

I have been working in Mental Health care as a counsellor since 1995. I have worked as a counsellor in Schools, Further education and Universities, Private practice, the Voluntary sector, and Employee Assistance programmes. The presenting issues which clients have brought to my counselling practice during my career has been extensive. I have supported clients in both short term counselling and long term therapy. People seek counselling or psychotherapy for a wide range of reasons, and these are frequently linked with feelings and experiences which they are finding difficult to understand and manage. I am a psychotherapeutic counsellor with over 29 years of experience. I offer counselling/psychotherapy for clients when it may feel hard to find the a way forward on their own. I am committed to providing a safe, confidential, empathic, and non-judgmental setting and context for our work together, where you can begin to change barriers that may be standing in your way. My aim is to provide a space where you begin to understand yourself and your experiences, and to find ways of feeling able to resolve your personal difficulties and achieve a sense of positivity and hope in respect of the difficulties you have, or are currently experiencing .
I believe that by creating a safe and private space for counselling, where the therapeutic relationship, and subsequent trust which develops, is a key factor in clients being able to achieve a positive outcome. I have a non-judgemental and anti-discriminatory approach to life and this is central to how I work as a counsellor..

How to Know If Online Therapy Is Right for You

Many people wonder whether online therapy can make a meaningful difference. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties or navigating life changes, online therapy has been shown to be as effective as traditional in-person sessions for most people. One major benefit is flexibility – clients can connect in the way that feels most comfortable, choosing video calls, phone sessions, live chat or in-app messaging. That range of options makes it easier to fit therapy into a busy life. All participating practitioners are licensed professionals, and clients have the option to switch therapists if they feel a different fit would work better. Online therapy offers an accessible, adaptable way to receive professional support for many everyday mental health needs.
