Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships
Life can sometimes feel like a series of hurdles, leaving you feeling overwhelmed or stuck. Whether you’re facing work stress, relationship challenges, grief, anxiety, or the weight of everyday life, you don’t have to face it alone.
At Dragonfly Counselling in York, I offer a warm, compassionate, and non-judgmental space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings openly. As a person-centred counsellor, I firmly believe that you are the expert in your own life. My role is to support and guide you as you find your own path forward.
Therapy with me isn’t about receiving solutions or being told what to do. Instead, it’s about creating a space where you feel truly heard, giving you the opportunity to reflect and discover your own insights. My approach is non-directive, which means we work together at your pace, focusing on what matters most to you in each session.
With a background in the performing arts, I also have a unique understanding of the insecurities and self-doubt that can affect creative individuals. I take great satisfaction in helping clients identify and overcome these challenges, while fostering self-awareness, personal freedom, and emotional growth.
Whatever you’re facing right now, I’m here to listen to your story and help you explore what you want to achieve through therapy. Together, we can navigate the steps towards a brighter, more balanced future.
I am a fully qualified and insured counsellor, holding an enhanced DBS certificate, and I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).
Choosing the right counsellor is a vital step in your journey. Please visit my website for more information, and feel free to contact me if you think we could work well together.
Training, qualifications & experience
Beginning my professional journey as an actor, I developed strong communication, empathy, and interpersonal skills early on. Over time, I gained experience across a variety of industries, including many years working within educational settings. However, like many individuals, I sought deeper life fulfilment, which inspired me to pursue a new path.
Driven by a desire to support others on a more personal level, I returned to college, completing a three-year course and earning a Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling. Since then, I have gained valuable experience working with a diverse range of clients through voluntary roles with local charities and in a rural GP’s practice. These roles have allowed me to deepen my understanding of different therapeutic needs and approaches, while providing meaningful support to individuals within the community.

Many people ask whether online therapy really helps. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties or navigating life changes, online therapy is widely regarded as comparable in effectiveness to traditional in-person work.
An important benefit is flexibility – clients can choose the contact method that suits them best, whether that is video calls, phone sessions, live chat or in-app messaging. This range of options makes it simpler to fit therapy around work, family and other commitments.
Therapy delivered online is provided by licensed professionals and therapists, and clients have the option to change therapists if they prefer a different fit. For many people, the convenience and variety of access make online therapy a practical and effective way to get support.
