Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships
Hello! I am licensed in the state of IL (Licensed Clinical Social Worker) and have practiced as an individual and couples therapist for 25 years. My experience brings a breadth and depth of knowledge to the table with years of working with people experiencing depression, anxiety, life transitions, self-worth issues, addictions among other matters that may cause disturbance in one’s life. Whether you are looking for safe space to support processing feelings or directive type of guidance I have the skill set to meet you where you are.
Allow me to share with you a little about my style. I think people can tell us what they are thinking and feeling but people don’t cause their thoughts and feelings. I think that happens from a place below the level of conscious awareness. More than likely if what you are presenting was something to figure out solely from an intellectual level you wouldn’t be coming to a therapist. It would probably already be resolved, done and dusted. Intellectual understanding is valuable and will happen. My approach allows change to be natural and long lasting through several modalities we can utilize in our work together. I intend to show up with compassion, presence, respect and desire to fully understand (along with some well-placed humor) to make healthy shifts.
I appreciate the time, initiative, and “lean in” it takes making steps toward a happier healthier life. I look forwarded to getting started!

Shelley Hill is a licensed clinical social worker in Illinois who has practiced as an individual and couples therapist for 25 years. Her long career brings depth and practical knowledge to work with people facing depression, anxiety, difficult life transitions, challenges with self-worth, addictions, and other concerns that disrupt daily life.
She offers both a safe space for processing emotions and more directive guidance when that is helpful, meeting people where they are in their journey. Shelley believes that thoughts and feelings often arise from below the level of conscious awareness, and that while intellectual understanding is useful, it is not always sufficient to produce lasting change.
Her approach combines several therapeutic modalities to support natural, enduring shifts. She aims to bring compassion, presence, and respect to each session, along with a readiness to fully understand a person’s experience and the occasional well-placed touch of humor.
Shelley values the initiative it takes to seek change and the active engagement required to build a healthier, more satisfying life. She looks forward to beginning that work with new clients.
Many people wonder whether connecting with a therapist online can truly help. For a range of common concerns – such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, or navigating life changes – online therapy has been found to be as effective as traditional in-person sessions for most people.
One of the main benefits is flexibility. Clients can meet with their therapist in whatever format feels most comfortable – video sessions, phone calls, live chat, or in-app messaging – which can make it easier to fit therapy into a busy life.
Licensed professionals provide these services, and clients have the option to switch therapists at any time if they seek a different fit. Online therapy can be a practical, accessible way to pursue support while maintaining the same standards of professional care.
