Paula Otley

Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships

About

I am MBACP accredited May 2024.
I have been helping clients for over 16 years deal with loss in my role as a bereavement support volunteer. Through this work, sitting with clients in some of the darkest days of their lives I discovered my own direction. I then trained as an integrative counsellor specialising in person centred and psychodynamic approaches from a relational perspective.

My clients are from all walks of life each with their own unique views of the world, I meet them (You) as they are, developing a sound therapeutic alliance to facilitate the work. In 2020 I trained in cognitive behavioural therapy to integrate this into my approach, expanding my offering to clients. I have worked in multiple settings including GP practice, NHS, charities, community counselling services, private practice and employee assistance programmes.

What ever we do we will do it together.

Is Online Therapy the Right Step Toward Better Mental Health?

Many people wonder whether online therapy can truly help. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties or navigating life changes, online therapy has been shown to be just as effective as traditional in-person sessions. A major benefit is flexibility – clients can choose the format that fits their life, whether that is video calls, phone sessions, live chat or in-app messaging. This range of options makes it easier to access support without rearranging daily commitments. Licensed professionals provide care in these formats, and clients may switch therapists if they feel a different fit would be better. Online therapy offers a way to receive skilled support for everyday mental health challenges while fitting into varied schedules and lifestyles.
