Mitchell Stevens is a fully qualified counsellor and therapist who is a full member of the British Association of Counsellors & Psychotherapists (BACP) and works to their ethical framework. He is a supervisor with The Forward Trust, a UK nationwide organisation, and he works with adults and teenagers.
He has experience in the voluntary sector, having worked for Change, Grow & Live and The Forward Trust to support people affected by homelessness, addiction and poor mental health. He has also provided community counselling with Ashford Counselling Service and Kent Counsellors in the UK.
Mitchell offers online counselling to English-speaking adults aged 18+. He works with a wide range of emotional and psychological difficulties, including anxiety, depression, addiction, borderline and narcissistic personality issues, relationship and family problems, midlife crisis, divorce, bereavement and other forms of loss, low self-esteem, trauma-related dissociation, identity and sexual orientation concerns, and more.
He came into this work through personal and professional evolution, confronting and addressing the legacy of his childhood experiences. Through his own therapy he developed new ways of thinking, acting and relating to himself and others, which helped him become a better father, partner and friend and led him to train and qualify as a counsellor and therapist. He laughs and curses so people know they are with a real human being.
Mitchell also brings a rich life experience around family issues, stepfamilies and modern, eclectic family life, giving him personal insight into complex family dynamics. He worked extensively in the music business for many years as a musician, writer, producer and sound engineer and understands the creative process.
