Mary Markos-Jian

Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships

About

I am licensed in Texas with 22 years of professional work experience. I have worked in a large, urban high school setting assisting students grades 9-12 with personal issues, post secondary educational, and vocational needs, as well as social and behavioral concerns. My main focus is on grief and trauma. The students with whom I work come from diverse backgrounds. Many are refugees who have experienced trauma and need help processing all they have endured. Other families are undocumented, and need assistance with immigration and college admissions. I am bilingual and serve families whose first language is Spanish. Additionally, I have clinical experience, and am proficient in helping clients with stress and anxiety, lgbt-related issues, relationship issues, & family conflicts. I work with my clients to create an open and safe environment where thoughts and feelings can be shared without fear of judgment. I incorporate a variety of modalities based on the individual needs and goals of the client. Modalities include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Gestalt Therapy, Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy, and Solution Focused Brief Therapy. I conduct individual as well as family and group therapies. Taking the first step to sign up for therapy can take courage and I am proud of you for getting started!

Is Online Therapy the Right Choice for Your Mental Health Journey?

For many common concerns – including stress, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, and navigating life changes – online therapy has been found to be as effective as traditional in-person sessions.

One major benefit is flexibility. People can meet with a therapist in the format that works best for them: video calls, phone sessions, live chat, or in-app messaging. This range of options makes it easier to fit regular sessions into a busy schedule.

Therapists offering online care are licensed professionals, and clients have the option to switch providers if they seek a different fit. Online therapy can therefore be a practical, accessible way to pursue support for everyday mental health needs.
