Mark Callaway is a UK-based psychotherapist with more than 14 years of direct counselling experience and over 18 years working with complex trauma.
He is a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and also practises as a Social Worker in adult mental health, registered with Social Work England.
His work has covered adults, young people and children from age seven across a range of settings, including financial services, residential childcare, family outreach, safeguarding, domestic abuse services, substance misuse work and community mental health. He regularly works alongside GPs, hospitals, adult and child mental health teams, schools and care providers.
Mark supports people with many difficulties, including addiction and substance misuse, family conflict, domestic violence, issues around sexuality, depression and hopelessness, suicidal thoughts, neurodivergence, complex trauma and abuse, extra-familial harm, relationship problems, grief and loss, and challenging life transitions.
Highlights from his practice include helping a young woman rebuild trust after domestic violence, supporting a father to connect with his adopted son, and offering stabilising therapeutic support to a woman in profound crisis.
He provides short- and long-term counselling, usually offering sessions in the evenings and adapting arrangements to individual need. Sessions are available face-to-face, as walking therapy, by video or telephone, and by instant messaging to suit different preferences.
