Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships
Hey, I’m Luke I work with clients through relationship problems, depression and all kinds of anxiety from social anxiety to that deep existential kind. And bumping into our lovely friend shame along the way because that tends to come with the territory. This is the work I love.
I also focus a lot on;
· low self-esteem / low self-confidence
· ADHD
· Bereavement and Breakups
I offer traditional talking therapy that’s guided by Attachment theory, Emotion Theory, Cognitive Behavioural therapy (CBT) and humanistic therapies (Person-Centred, Relational).
But that’s just therapy jargon! What does that mean?
That means each session is about you and your emotions. Using the therapeutic relationship that we’ll form together to build safety (through, empathy, no-judgement and honesty) so we can explore the parts of ourselves, emotions, habits and behaviours that hurt. The way we do this is by feeling, hurting, crying, raging, and making mistakes, all the messy humanness that comes with living.
“We’ve got to feel it to heal it”
How I work
I don’t believe in a passive approach to therapy, I aim to be a present companion through your journey because it’s a hell of a lot easier to have company going into the unknown than being alone.
I do bring myself into the space to normalize what it is to be human and real. I’ve had personal experience with anxiety and depression. Experienced my fair share of pain, close bereavement and my continual process of grief, constant challenges of feeling not enough and people-pleasing. All the good stuff.
I value deep connection, and our ability to make meaning which I find constantly inspiring. Love all things gaming and arty/creative, am an avid explorer (having lived in 3 different countries). I’m a proud big brother, a terrible multi-tasker, and just another person trying to make sense of what it is to be human.
So if you are just skim-reading or you have made it to the end of my rambling and would like to see more of what my way of working is like. Or if you are just curious and want to have a chat send over a message and we can set up a call.
I wish you all the best and luck in finding the right therapist for you.
Take care, Luke 😊

Luke Thompson is a United Kingdom-based therapist with four years of clinical experience who works with people facing relationship difficulties, depression and a wide range of anxiety – from social fears to deeper, existential worry. He regularly supports clients who encounter shame as part of their struggles and specialises in low self-esteem and low self-confidence, ADHD, bereavement and breakups.
He offers traditional talking therapy informed by Attachment theory, Emotion Theory, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and humanistic approaches such as Person-Centred and Relational work. In plain terms, each session centres on the client and their emotions, using the therapeutic relationship to establish safety through empathy, non-judgement and honesty so painful patterns, habits and feelings can be explored.
Luke describes the work as involving feeling and expressing difficult emotions – crying, anger, grief and the inevitable mistakes that come with being human – because, as he often puts it, "We've got to feel it to heal it."
He does not take a passive stance in therapy and aims to be a present companion on the journey rather than a distant observer. He brings parts of himself into the room to normalise the common experience of struggle, drawing on his own lived experience of anxiety, depression, close bereavement and an ongoing process of grief, alongside long-standing challenges with feeling not enough and people-pleasing.
Outside of work he enjoys gaming, creative pursuits and travel – having lived in three different countries – and he values deep connection and the human capacity to make meaning. He is a male therapist who identifies as gay and welcomes conversations from people seeking a relatable and honest therapeutic partnership. If someone is curious or would like to know more about his approach they can send a message to arrange a call. He wishes everyone well in finding the right therapist for them.
Many people ask whether online therapy can truly help. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties or navigating life changes, research shows that remote therapy can be just as effective as traditional in-person sessions.
One of the main benefits is flexibility – individuals can choose the format that best fits their life, whether that is video calls, phone sessions, live chat or in-app messaging. This flexibility makes it easier to maintain consistency and to fit therapy around work, family and other commitments.
All therapists involved are licensed professionals, and if a different fit is needed it is possible to switch providers at any time. Online therapy offers a practical, accessible option for many people seeking support without changing the quality of care they receive.
