Dr. Lucy Flitton

Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships

About

I am a licensed, certified Complex Trauma Integrative and Somatic psychotherapist and psychologist based in the UK with 17 years of professional work experience.

I have experience in helping adults, adolescents, and children overcome their struggles. Within my practice, I apply different approaches in accordance to your presenting story while always working within a person-centred framework.

In addition, I have trained in women’s health issues, especially relating to trauma-based symptoms. I am also trained within the Polyvagal model and Somatic approaches to help you explore how emotions show up physically. I also help you explore and work through conflicting parts and how they influence your well-being via Internal Family Systems.

Additionally, I make use of Existential principles to facilitate healing and Post Traumatic Growth, leading to outcomes like renewed purpose or stronger relationships. These notions align with Positive Psychology, too.

I therefore integrate aspects of Developmental Psychology, Neuropsychology, Existential concepts and Health Psychology into my approach when working with you.

Furthermore, I apply a life course approach to my work and therefore explore your struggles at an individual level as well as from a more societal-based perspective.

My wide range of tools helps me work with and support people with various issues including trauma-related struggles such as stress and anxiety, addictions and their co-occurring difficulties, relationship difficulties and struggles with poor sleep.

Based on my training as an NLP Master practitioner, I also explore and analyse how your use of language shapes your reality. I also look at how you use language to navigate and interpret your relationship dynamics.

Our work together will thus enable you to flourish and reach your full potential. Feel free to contact me directly through the platform. I aim to respond within 24 hours of receipt between 8.30 am , and 7.30 pm Monday to Friday.

You can read my blogs and articles on the ACCPH and Medium websites, as well as on my private practice website.

I look forward to working with you.
Lucy

Is Online Therapy the Right Step Toward Better Mental Health?

Many people ask whether online therapy can make a meaningful difference. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties or navigating life changes, evidence shows that online therapy can be as effective as traditional in-person work for most cases.

A major benefit is flexibility – clients can choose the format that best fits their needs, including video calls, phone sessions, live chat or in-app messaging. This range of options makes it simpler to incorporate therapy into a busy life.

Each therapist involved is a licensed professional, and clients are free to change therapists if they need a different fit. For many people, online therapy provides an accessible, practical way to get regular support while working toward their goals.
