Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships
I am credentialed in the United Kingdom with 20 years of professional work experience. I have experience in helping clients with stress, anxiety, family conflicts, anger management, motivation, self esteem, & confidence. I also have experience working with depression. I believe that you are the expert of your story and that you have many strengths that will assist you in overcoming things that challenge you. Taking the first step to sign up for therapy can take courage and I am proud of you for getting started!
I am passionate about my work as a counsellor. I am a Pluralistic integrative counsellor, which means I work according to a school of therapy that is designed to allow us to work together to find the best way of addressing your hopes in therapy. In a nutshell, this means I use ideas and methods from various therapeutic modalities and your life experience. The therapeutic modalities I may use include Person-Centred, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Strength Based Therapy, Trauma, Bereavement Counselling, Mindfulness and Life Coaching to name but a few.
I work relationally and aim for you to feel safe enough to share difficult feelings, in a space that offers you compassion, and a sense of human connection and understanding. I work visually by stepping into our creative side however, if being creative is not something that feels comfortable, then we can use the traditional talking method. Shared decision-making forms part of the therapeutic process and I will always check in with you to see if your or needs are being met.

Louise Dowkes is credentialed in the United Kingdom and has 5 years of professional experience. She has supported people with stress, anxiety, family conflicts, anger management, motivation, self-esteem and confidence, and has experience working with depression.
She believes that each person is the expert of their own story and brings attention to the strengths clients already possess to help overcome current challenges. Louise recognises that signing up for therapy takes courage and she is proud of clients who take that first step.
As a pluralistic integrative counsellor, Louise works collaboratively to find the best way to address a client’s hopes in therapy. That approach draws on ideas and techniques from several modalities, and she may use methods from Person-Centred work, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Strengths-Based approaches, Trauma and Bereavement counselling, Mindfulness practices, and Life Coaching.
She works relationally with an emphasis on creating a space where difficult feelings can be shared, offering compassion and human connection. Louise often uses visual and creative methods when helpful, while also offering traditional talking-based sessions for those who prefer them. Shared decision-making is part of her practice and she routinely checks in to ensure a client’s needs are being met.
Many people wonder whether online therapy can make a meaningful difference. For a range of common concerns – such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, and navigating life changes – online therapy has been shown to be comparable in effectiveness to traditional in-person sessions.
One of the main benefits is flexibility. Clients can choose the mode of communication that feels most comfortable for them – video calls, phone sessions, live chat, or in-app messaging – which can make it easier to fit therapy into everyday life.
Therapy delivered online is provided by licensed professionals, and clients have the option to switch therapists at any time if they want a different fit.
