Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships
I am a registered therapist in the UK with over 23 years professional counselling experience in a wide range of settings ;
from solution focused therapy in employee assistance programmes, Cognitive Behavioural therapy within the NHS, to a mindfulness and more Compassion focussed therapy approach in my private practise.
Over the years I have helped thousands of individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, low self esteem, trauma, grief and coming to terms with illness;
Every single one of my clients is unique – in how they were brought up, the situations life has thrown at them, how they deal or cope with these situations; And key to success in therapy is not applying a one sized fits all approach – I believe that one of the important jobs of therapy is to honour each individual and explore gently together unhelpful patterns, of thoughts/ feelings/ behaviours that are getting in the way of a more fulfilling life ;
My approach is an ‘Integrated’ one – which means I work with many different modalities of therapy; person centred, which focuses on building a relationship, being accepting, open, honest and non judgemental; Cognitive Behavioural Therapy; which provides a framework, a vocabulary and tools to help in situations; Mindfulness and breathing techniques to help self regulate; Compassion Focussed therapy, as many of us can be our own worst critics, and need to learn to be our own best friends, or at least be a bit kinder to ourselves;
I am based in Glasgow; Scotland; however I have travelled extensively, and lived and worked in many different countries and cultures. I am open, curious and passionate about helping people improve their mental health and wellbeing; – I am always reading or listening to podcasts, going on courses, to explore new approaches that can help my clients and myself work more effectively as a therapist.
I look forward to working with you.
