About

My name is John McRee; I am a Licensed Counselor providing Mental Health Therapy for many years in a variety of ways. I began as a simple farmer but moved to Youth Director at my Church, Boy Scout Leader in my hometown, TaeKwonDo instructor for my pleasure, and finally to Professional Mental Health Counseling within the Medical Connunity. I learned from the wonderful Professors at school and gained experience from Mental Health Centers in the Mississippi Delta area, and after being supervised for years, I opened my private practice near my mother and father, whom I cared for until they passed. After Covid almost ended my business, Betterhelp arrived to teach me that online counseling is, in some cases, better than face-to-face, and for the past five years, I have met individuals from around the world and have had great success in collaborating with them to meet their personal goals and desires. About

John McRee is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Mississippi who combines more than a decade of clinical experience with a diverse personal and community background. He holds a Master of Science degree and practices under a Mississippi counseling license (license number 1907).

His professional path began in a rural setting as a farmer and evolved through community roles including Youth Director at his church, Boy Scout Leader in his hometown, and a Tae Kwon Do instructor pursued for personal enjoyment. Those experiences informed his later work as a mental health counselor within the medical community.

John gained clinical experience at mental health centers in the Mississippi Delta and, after completing years of supervision, established a private practice near his parents, whom he cared for until their passing. Following the disruption of his practice during the COVID period, he embraced online counseling and over the past five years has worked with people from around the world, collaborating to help them reach their personal goals and needs.

With 13 years of therapy experience, John approaches each new connection with genuine interest in a person’s story and a commitment to practical, compassionate support for concerns ranging from trauma and grief to relationship and stress-related issues.

Is Online Therapy the Right Step Toward Better Mental Health?

Many people wonder whether remote therapy truly helps. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, or managing life transitions, online therapy has been found to be comparable in effectiveness to traditional in-person sessions for most individuals.

One major benefit is flexibility – clients can choose the communication method that fits their life and comfort level, whether that is video sessions, phone calls, live chat, or in-app messaging. This flexibility often makes it easier to fit therapy into busy schedules and to maintain consistency over time.

Therapists offering online services are licensed professionals, and clients typically have the option to change therapists if they seek a different therapeutic fit. For many people, remote sessions create a practical, accessible way to engage in ongoing mental health care and work toward personal goals.
