Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships
Welcome to my page! I’m Irina, a qualified counsellor (MBACP) based in the UK, offering individual and couple therapy online and in person (Frome & Bristol).
If you found your way to my page, you may be going through a difficult time in your life. You might have reached a point where things feel too heavy, too uncertain, or simply stuck. You’ve tried to make sense of things on your own, but nothing seems to shift.
Clients I’ve worked with often describe feeling “never enough,” always on the go, or emotionally exhausted. Together, we make sense of where these patterns come from and build practical ways to move from feeling lost, overwhelmed, or disconnected to finding steadiness, clarity, and confidence again. We’ll explore your story and what shaped the patterns you find yourself repeating – with compassion and curiosity, not judgment.
My style is warm, clear and collaborative; professional, but human. I believe therapy works best when you feel supported and challenged in the right balance.
Common reasons people come to me:
Anxiety, overthinking and burnout
Low self-confidence and imposter feelings
Relationship or family difficulties
Grief, loss or big life transitions
Childhood or relational trauma
People-pleasing and poor boundaries
How I work:
Safe, confidential and inclusive space (LGBTQ+ affirming)
Trauma-informed, grounded in attachment and self-awareness
Experience with neurodiversity, ADHD, burnout, perfectionism and complex family issues and dynamics
Short or long-term therapy depending on your goals
Somatic and nervous system-based practices – gentle body awareness, grounding and mindfulness tools to help you reconnect with your body, notice what it needs, and find regulation and safety within
Practical tools and a clear structure
Working across cultures
As someone who has experienced leaving one country to build a life in another, I understand first-hand the complexity of belonging, identity and change that comes with living between cultures. Whether you’ve moved by choice or circumstance, the process can bring both growth and grief, loss of familiar ground, shifting roles, questions about who you are and where you fit. In our work, we can explore these layers together with curiosity and compassion, helping you find a sense of rootedness and self-understanding wherever you are now.
When I’m not working and supporting others, I like to stay active by going to the gym, running or going on long walks with my dog. I enjoy spending a lot of my free time with my partner and with friends, and try to keep in touch with my family abroad. In the midst of all the activities and to-do’s on my weekly schedule, I make sure I have some “alone time” as well, to ground myself by reading, resting, listening to music, and doing as little as possible.

Irina Florea is a qualified counsellor (MBACP – Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) practising in the United Kingdom. She offers individual and couple therapy both online and in person, with face-to-face appointments available in Frome and Bristol. Irina has four years of clinical experience supporting people through a wide range of concerns.
Her work addresses issues such as stress and anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, addictions, relationship and family difficulties, grief and loss, trauma and abuse, sleep problems, parenting and anger, career worries, ADHD, and compassion fatigue. Irina also offers an LGBT-affirming practice and works with clients who identify as gay; she is a female, non-religious, liberal therapist.
Clients Irina has worked with often describe feelings of being “never enough,” continual busyness, or emotional exhaustion. In therapy she helps people track how those patterns developed and creates practical, achievable steps toward steadiness, clarity, and greater confidence. The approach is warm, clear and collaborative – professional but human in tone.
Her practice is trauma-informed and grounded in attachment theory and self-awareness. She is experienced in working with neurodiversity, ADHD, burnout, perfectionism and complex family dynamics. Sessions can be short or long term according to a client’s goals, and Irina integrates somatic and nervous system-based methods such as gentle body awareness, grounding and mindfulness to support regulation and reconnection with the body alongside practical tools and a clear structure.
Having left one country to build a life in another, Irina understands the layered experience of belonging, identity and change that comes with living between cultures. Whether relocation was by choice or circumstance, she can explore those layers with curiosity and compassion to help people find rootedness and clearer self-understanding wherever they are now.
Outside of work Irina keeps active through gym sessions, running and long walks with her dog. She spends time with her partner and friends, keeps in touch with family abroad, and protects regular alone time for reading, resting, listening to music and simply doing as little as possible.
Taking the first step toward a more fulfilling and content life can feel daunting. Irina is available to support people through that process. More information can be found at www.irinaflorea.com.
Many people wonder whether speaking to a therapist online truly helps. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties or navigating major life transitions, online therapy has been found to be as helpful as traditional in-person sessions for most people.
One major benefit is flexibility – individuals can choose the format that fits their life best, whether that is video calls, phone sessions, live chat or in-app messaging. This range of options makes it simpler to access support around work, family and other commitments.
Each therapist is a licensed professional, and if someone feels they need a different fit they are generally able to switch to another therapist at any time. Online therapy can be a practical and effective way to get consistent support without changing the core standards of professional care.
