My name is Heidi Shock and I am a mental health and substance abuse therapist with over fourteen years experience with high-risk clients primarily in the criminal justice system. I have a undergraduate degree in Psychology from the University of Michigan and a Master’s degree in Social Work from Michigan State University. I provide a laid-back, non-judgmental and safe space that helps individuals open up about issues creating barriers in their lives. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, PTSD, trauma, abuse, mood disorders, personality disorders, substance abuse, ADHD, grief/loss, etc. I have worked with individuals of all demographics, age ranges from teens-older adults. My therapeutic approach combines Client-Centered, Cognitive-Behavioral, Solution-Focused, Motivational Interviewing, Narrative and Rational-Emotive Therapy. She has worked with people of all demographics and ages, from teens through older adults, and has supported clients facing depression, anxiety, PTSD, trauma and abuse, substance use and addictions, bipolar disorder, ADHD, grief and loss, compassion fatigue, relationship and family conflicts, intimacy and parenting concerns, anger management, low self esteem, and coping with life changes and stress.
Her clinical approach integrates client-centered work with cognitive-behavioral techniques, solution-focused strategies, motivational interviewing, narrative methods, and rational-emotive therapy.
