How can I help you? By listening and hearing what you say, by not judging, being open minded and gently guiding you and not telling you what to do – I am willing to help you. Here is a little bit about me – the only time I will talk a long time about me but its what I can offer you and other little snippets
I am a Registered member of the BACP and accredited member of the NCPS, here in the UK, with many years experience helping clients who have been through grief, abuse (sexual, mental, physical, emotional, monetary), bullying, anxiety, their sexuality or even their uniqueness of Aspergers, Sex or Porn Addiction, you are an abuser and want to change or just coming to terms with who they are.
I am over 60 and along with my age comes wisdom and experience to enable me to help you who is the important person in this therapeutic relationship. I am unique and what you see is what you get that being said there is not a lot that that you could empart that would phase me, I will accept you as you are and will help you become the person you want to be.
I treat everyone with the respect they deserve whilst keeping their confidentiality along with my non-judgemental approach. My counselling style is mainly Humanistic (you the client are the most important person in the room) that is person centred but also if needed I utilise the skills and Knowledge I have regarding cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) – we will work together to find the best way forward for you.
You have taken the first and hardest step by looking for help to work out your perceived problem and I am here to help by supporting and empowering you to change or accept depending on your needs. Remember we do not have to change who we are to ‘fit in’.

Elizabeth Brereton listens attentively, offers non-judgemental, open-minded support and gently guides rather than tells clients what to do. She approaches each person with respect and a commitment to hearing their experience.
She is a registered member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) and an accredited member of the NCPS in the United Kingdom. With six years of experience, Elizabeth has worked with people dealing with grief, abuse including sexual, mental, physical, emotional and monetary harm, bullying, anxiety, questions about sexuality, the particularities of Aspergers, sex or porn addiction, those who recognise they have been abusive and want to change, and individuals coming to terms with who they are.
Being over 60, she brings life experience and perspective to the therapeutic relationship, valuing the client as the most important person in the room. She is straightforward and authentic – what you see is what you get – and few things will phase her. Elizabeth accepts clients as they are and supports them in becoming the person they want to be.
Her counselling style is primarily humanistic and person-centred, putting the client at the heart of the work. When appropriate, she also draws on cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) skills to help find practical ways forward. She maintains client confidentiality and combines a warm, non-judgemental manner with professional boundaries.
Elizabeth recognises that seeking help is often the first and hardest step. She aims to support and empower clients to change or to reach acceptance depending on their needs, and she encourages people to live without feeling they must change who they are just to “fit in”.
Many people ask whether therapy delivered online can truly help. For a range of common concerns – such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, or navigating life changes – online therapy has been found to be comparable in effectiveness to traditional in-person sessions.
One major benefit is flexibility. Clients can connect in the way that suits them best – by video call, phone session, live chat or in-app messaging – which can make it much easier to fit therapy into a busy life.
All therapists involved are licensed professionals, and if a different match is preferred at any time, clients can switch to another therapist. Online therapy offers a practical and accessible option for many people seeking support.
