Dana Secord is a licensed professional counselor who practices in both Colorado and Texas and brings six years of clinical experience to her work. She views the decision to explore one’s own story as an act of courage and focuses on helping people move beyond feelings of hopelessness, depression, persistent anxiety, and overwhelming emotional pain.
She has supported adults in private practice who face challenges such as depression, anxiety, substance abuse, domestic violence, relationship conflict, gender and sexual identity questions, LGBTQ+ concerns, and various personality, mood, and adjustment disorders. Earlier in her career she worked in community health settings providing therapy to people affected by sexual abuse, post-traumatic stress disorder, anger management difficulties, bipolar disorder, self-esteem struggles, and eating disorders.
Dana holds a Master of Arts degree in Professional Counseling from Texas Wesleyan University and uses an integrative approach when working with adults. She emphasizes open expression of feelings and helps clients develop insight into themselves and their relationships. Dana believes each person is the expert on their own life and that a collaborative, individualized approach to therapy leads to the best outcomes, delivered in a nonjudgmental setting where clients can share disappointments and fears without pressure.
For many common concerns - including stress, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, and navigating life changes - online therapy can be just as effective as traditional in-person care. Research and clinical experience indicate that remote sessions produce meaningful benefits for these kinds of issues.
One major advantage of virtual therapy is the flexibility it offers. Clients can choose the mode of connection that suits them best: video sessions, phone conversations, live chat, or in-app messaging. This adaptability makes it easier to fit therapy into a busy schedule and to maintain continuity of care.
Each therapist providing online services is a licensed professional, and clients have the option to change therapists if they want a different fit. For many people, the combination of evidence-based results and practical convenience makes online therapy a useful option to consider.
