Catherine Cross

Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships

About

Hi, my name is Catherine.
I’m an Integrative Counsellor based in the UK and an Accredited member of the BACP (British Association for Counsellors and Psychotherapists)
I have experience working for the NHS, a local children’s centre with parents and in my own Private practice supporting adults both short and long term with a range of difficulties including anxiety, depression, loss, parenting , caring and relationship issues. On top of this I work for a charity supporting workers in the construction industry with their mental health.
Although I support clients from all areas and walks of life I have a special interest in Neurodiversity and the way that this affects mental health.
I also have experience working in schools with parents of children with special educational needs. I have a warm and down to earth manner and put your needs first.
Sometimes it is easy to feel overwhelmed by life. Sometimes the road gets rough and we struggle to hold it all together and the things we always used to find so easy suddenly feel impossible. Maybe you have never really spoke to anyone about the way you feel or you are not sure if your problems are ‘important enough’ to seek counselling.
Most people in therapy are in fact struggling with everyday issues such as stress, anxiety and depression; you are not the only one. I believe your issues are important and so are your feelings. You have the right to peace in your life.
Some people may want to change specific aspects of their lives or may need help to manage major life changes such as the breakdown of a relationship or loss of a loved one.
Does this sound like you? I can help; talking things over with a trained professional outside of your family and friends can help you to find clarity, feel calmer, more in control, help you to make decisions without feeling guilty and give you a sense of self-worth and purpose.

About

Catherine Cross is an Integrative Counsellor based in the United Kingdom and an Accredited member of the BACP (British Association for Counsellors and Psychotherapists).

She has four years of professional experience, including work for the NHS, a local children’s centre supporting parents, and a private practice where she supports adults in both short-term and long-term therapy. She also works for a charity providing mental health support to workers in the construction industry.

Catherine supports people with a wide range of difficulties, including stress, anxiety, relationship and family issues, parenting concerns, ADHD, addictions, trauma and abuse, grief, intimacy-related problems, eating and sleeping difficulties, anger, low self-esteem, career-related concerns, bipolar and depression, coping with life changes, and compassion fatigue. She also offers support for LGBT clients and has experience working in schools with parents of children with special educational needs.

She has a particular interest in Neurodiversity and the ways it can affect mental health. Catherine is known for a warm, down-to-earth manner and places clients’ needs at the centre of her work.

Sometimes life can feel overwhelming and everyday tasks that once seemed easy become difficult. Whether someone has not previously talked about how they feel or is unsure if their concerns are ‘important enough’ for counselling, Catherine believes those feelings matter and that everyone has a right to peace of mind. She can help people talk things through with a trained professional outside family and friends, to find greater clarity, feel calmer and more in control, make decisions without excessive guilt, and regain a sense of self-worth and purpose.

Is Online Therapy the Right Step Toward Better Mental Health?

Many people ask whether online therapy can really help. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, and navigating life changes, evidence shows that remote therapy can be as effective as in-person sessions. A major benefit is flexibility – clients can choose the mode that suits them best, whether that is video calls, phone sessions, live chat, or in-app messaging. This flexibility makes it easier to fit therapy into a busy life and to access support from different locations. Therapists offering online work are licensed professionals, and individuals may change therapists at any time if they prefer a different fit. For many people, online therapy provides a practical, effective route to getting support for everyday mental health concerns and transitions.
