Dr. Brenda Bridges draws on both personal and professional experience to help people manage stressors and move through difficult times. She has substantial experience working with post-traumatic stress, military culture, and a range of mental health conditions, and she provides encouragement and practical support when life feels overwhelming.
As a Marine Corps veteran, Dr. Bridges understands how post-traumatic stress can affect an individual and their family. While she maintains a focus on veteran care, she also offers therapy to children, teenagers, adults, couples, and families facing traumatic events or other challenges. Her practice has addressed concerns such as depression, anxiety, relationship difficulties, parenting struggles, career setbacks, physical trauma, and emotional abuse.
Her counseling style is warm and interactive, grounded in respect, sensitivity, and compassion, and she avoids stigmatizing labels. Dr. Bridges blends cognitive-behavioral, humanistic, psychodynamic, and rational-emotive approaches and will tailor conversations and treatment plans to each person’s specific needs. She is trained in EMDR and continues to pursue additional training in emerging therapies.
Dr. Bridges earned a Doctorate in Counseling Psychology from Argosy University, a Master’s in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from Brandman University, and a Bachelor’s degree in Social Psychology from Park University. She is licensed as a Marriage and Family Therapist in Texas (TX LMFT 203706) and California (CA LMFT 111243) and brings 12 years of clinical experience to her work in Texas.
