Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships
Hello and welcome,
my name is Laura and I am an integrative counsellor. I am a registered member of BACP and I work with individual clients online.
Sometimes life presents us with challenges and we may feel stuck, powerless, depressed, anxious, and may not know where to turn. At these times, it is important that we have a safe and non-judgmental space where we can reflect and explore how we feel, find what brings meaning to our lives, and make sense of whatever is preventing us from living to our full potential.
Whilst life challenges are common, we all have different cultures, values, and beliefs. This is why in therapy it is so important to tailor our approach to the unique life experience of our clients.
Throughout our shared journey, I will be guided by a genuine desire to understand you. I will listen to you and your story with compassion and support you becoming aware of who you are and how you relate to the world. Understanding yourself better in turn will support you in exercising choice, becoming unstuck, gaining a sense of mastery over your life, and finding fulfillment in your relationships.
My approach
To help you understand a bit more what working with me may look like, I include some information about my practice.
Whilst I draw on different modalities, my approach firmly sits within the humanistic tradition. At the same time, I’m influenced by psychodynamic theory and pay attention to the unconscious forces that drive us.
I do believe that human beings are capable of change and what change looks like for you is a fundamental part of the work we will do together. Even more, I believe that the most important part of our work is the alliance between client and therapist and that this alliance is the key to healing and reparation.
We will spend a bit of time looking at how your early life experiences may have influenced how you relate to yourself and the world today. We will try and identify patterns in your life to see if you find yourself often in the same situation, at work, or in relationships for example. By slowly shedding light on your behaviours, we will try and separate those that are still helpful from those that do not serve you well anymore so that you can exercise choice. Guided by empathy and positive regard for you and your experience, I will support you in making sense of your life and bring reparation where needed.

Laura Spagnuolo is an integrative counsellor and a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). She works with individual clients online from the United Kingdom and has 4 years of experience.
She supports people dealing with stress, anxiety, relationship difficulties, trauma and abuse, intimacy-related issues, depression, family concerns, eating and sleeping problems, anger, low self-esteem and coping with life changes. When life feels overwhelming or stuck, she offers a calm, non-judgmental space to reflect, explore emotions and make sense of what is getting in the way of living more fully.
Her practice sits within the humanistic tradition while also drawing on psychodynamic ideas that pay attention to unconscious influences. Laura believes people are capable of change and sees the therapeutic alliance as central to healing and repair. She listens with empathy and positive regard, helping clients become more aware of who they are and how they relate to others.
In therapy she and the client look at how early life experiences may have shaped current patterns, identify repeated ways of being at work or in relationships, and gently separate patterns that remain helpful from those that no longer serve. The aim is to support clients in exercising choice, gaining a sense of mastery and finding greater fulfilment in their lives and relationships.
