Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships
Here you are, considering whether you should talk to someone, if this is the right time, or even if this therapy thing might really be for you. I get it, these things can seem confusing, so I hope you will find the information provided here helpful.
I am an experienced Clinical Psychologist and Counsellor, and have worked in a variety of settings – higher education, community, healthcare, independently in private practice. I see adults individually; either online or in-person (my consulting room is in Oxford, UK).
I offer open-ended psychotherapy, and truly believe that for it to be effective, we must have the most appropriate, individual, therapeutic conversation, so I offer a compassionate and safe space for you to express your emotions in your therapeutic process with me.
I designed my practice based on the Psychodynamic approach – here we explore common types of mental health concerns, including general information, signs and symptoms, treatment options, self-care and how therapy can help.
My specialties involve working with people facing loss, relationship and self-esteem issues, life transitions, as well as anxiety and depression. I am also a LGBTQIA+ affirmative therapist.
As a migrant in the UK, I am aware of the challenges one can face when moving to a different country, culture and language, so I offer sessions in English and in Portuguese.
Evidence would hint I am mostly helpful to my clients but of course, it is the relationship we develop that counts. So before we start, I always offer an initial session – so we can assess together the potential benefit of our ongoing psychotherapeutic work.
Mental health issues can have a profound impact on our thoughts, feelings and behaviours. We all have mental health, and what affects our daily lives varies between each of us. The important thing to remember is that support is available, and we are not alone in our journey.

Beatriz Zanichelli Sonego is a Clinical Psychologist and Counsellor with 15 years of experience. She has worked across higher education, community services, healthcare settings and in private practice, and sees adults for individual therapy either online or in person from her consulting room in Oxford, United Kingdom.
She offers open-ended psychotherapy grounded in a psychodynamic approach, aiming to create a compassionate and safe space where people can explore their feelings and life patterns. Her practice emphasises an individualised therapeutic conversation – tailoring the pace and focus to what is most helpful for each person.
Her areas of focus include loss and grief, relationship and family difficulties, self-esteem concerns, life transitions, anxiety and depression, trauma and abuse, intimacy-related issues, eating-related concerns, career matters, stress, coping with life changes, coaching and compassion fatigue. She is LGBTQIA+ affirmative and welcomes people seeking an affirming therapeutic environment.
As a migrant living in the UK, she is aware of the challenges of adapting to a new country, culture and language, and offers sessions in English and Portuguese. Before beginning longer-term work she offers an initial session so potential benefits and therapeutic fit can be explored together. Beatriz recognises that mental health affects thoughts, feelings and behaviour in different ways for everyone, and she encourages people to reach out if they have questions about starting therapy.
