Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships
How we relate to others is key to understand about how we make sense of our world; setting up and maintaining our boundaries in our relationships can be difficult and getting feedback from others sometimes can make us feel uncomfortable.
We all have natural tendency in ourselves to move in a positive direction; recognising what has been helpful and what kind of behaviour or perspective we would like to change to become the person we wish to be.
The urge that we have, to express ourselves truly to others and to use our capacity in full may be deeply buried in each of us. But for defensive reasons we act in surface level, on a contrary direction to our feelings.
Therapy can help you to gain more awareness about yourself, your identity, and your patterns in life; encouraging you to remove the obstacles in front of you to achieve your potential through personal growth.
Learning and development may continue as long as we are open to constructive change and growth.
I am an experienced, qualified, BACP registered, humanistic counsellor and psychotherapist. I offer empathy, non-judgemental safe space, and genuine encounter to my clients. I believe in equal therapeutic relationship in counselling, respecting, and accepting you as who you are and to accompany you in your journey where you want to go in your life.
I welcome people from every walk of life who is willing to commit and can engage in therapy.
Initial session
The initial session will give us opportunity to address which areas you would like to work on. We will talk about your brief personal history, including your family, childhood, school years, work, significant relationships, and important life events. General assessment to understand your current network, health, and how happy you are with your housing and work.
The next step- short-term or long-term counselling?
Once we decide to work together, the following sessions will be ideally minimum of once per week. There is no commitment to continue certain number of sessions, you can choose how to use your space each week; you may choose to have a short-term counselling (6-12 weeks) where we can have more planned and focused sessions or long-term counselling where we can work more in a deeper level.

Dilek Nakiboglu is a BACP registered humanistic counsellor and psychotherapist working in the United Kingdom with nine years of clinical experience. She specialises in areas such as stress, anxiety, relationship difficulties, trauma and abuse, self-esteem, depression, addictions, LGBT-related concerns, family issues, grief, intimacy-related problems, eating and sleeping difficulties, parenting, anger, career challenges, bipolar conditions, coping with life changes, coaching, ADHD, and working with gay clients. She practises as a female therapist who aims to create a respectful and accepting therapeutic environment.
She believes that how people relate to others shapes the way they understand their world, and that setting and maintaining boundaries in relationships can be challenging. Dilek sees therapy as a way to build awareness of identity and life patterns, to recognise helpful strategies, and to identify behaviours or perspectives someone might want to change in order to move toward their potential.
In sessions she offers empathy, a non-judgemental safe space, and a genuine therapeutic encounter. Her approach values an equal therapeutic relationship that respects and accepts clients as they are, accompanying them on the path they choose for their life. She welcomes people from every walk of life who are willing to commit to and engage in therapy.
The initial session provides an opportunity to clarify the areas a client wants to address. That meeting typically covers a brief personal history – family, childhood, school years, work, significant relationships, and important life events – alongside a general assessment of current support networks, health, housing, and work satisfaction.
If both decide to work together, subsequent sessions are normally held at least once per week. There is no obligation to commit to a fixed number of meetings; clients may choose short-term counselling of around 6-12 weeks for focused work, or longer-term counselling to explore issues at a deeper level. Dilek supports clients in deciding the pace and focus that suit their needs.
Her training includes an MSc in Psychology from the University of East London, a BTEC Level 5 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling, and CPCAB Level 3 and Level 2 certificates in counselling studies and counselling skills, qualifications that underpin her humanistic practice.
Many people ask whether remote therapy can truly help. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, or coping with life changes, online therapy has been shown to be comparable in effectiveness to traditional in-person work.
A major benefit is flexibility – clients can choose the format that fits their life, whether that is video calls, phone sessions, live chat, or in-app messaging. This variety makes it easier to attend sessions even when schedules or logistics are challenging.
All therapists involved are licensed professionals, and clients are free to change therapists if they feel a different fit would be better. For many people, online therapy provides a practical, accessible way to begin or continue therapeutic work while maintaining the same professional standards found in face-to-face care.
