Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships
I specialise in Systemic Counselling and Psychotherapy – a world-wide, developed and practiced, academically grounded approach within the fields of therapy and social care. Because of its coherent focus on the relations in our lives it is often referred to as “Family Therapy” but can be likewise useful for individuals and groups other than families, e.g. workplace teams, interest groups, etc.
The UK-based Association for Family Therapy and Systemic Practice (AFT) describes how “Family Therapy helps people in close relationship help each other. It enables family members, couples and others who care about each other to express and explore difficult thoughts and emotions safely, to understand each other’s experiences and views, appreciate each other’s needs, build on strengths, and make useful changes in their relationships and their lives.
There is a long list of problems and symptoms that can be explored via the approach of Systemic Counselling and Psychotherapy. However, no list of problems could ever claim to contain your problem in the way that you experience it. You, your problem, and your solutions are too unique to go on a list. Some of the challenges that previous clients dealt with are listed in the keywords section. addiction, self-harm, eating disorders, anxiety, depression, trauma, coaching, health related issues, identity, culture, spirituality, relationships, sexuality, parenting, stress at work and home and difficulties dealing with involved authorities, such as Child & Family Social Services.

Stefan Eckardt specialises in Systemic Counselling and Psychotherapy, a well-established, academically grounded approach practised internationally within therapy and social care.
Its coherent focus on the relationships that shape people’s lives often leads to the approach being called Family Therapy, though it is equally applicable to individuals and to groups beyond families – for example workplace teams or interest groups.
The UK-based Association for Family Therapy and Systemic Practice explains that Family Therapy helps people in close relationships support one another, enabling family members, couples and others who care about each other to express and explore difficult thoughts and emotions safely, understand each other’s experiences and views, appreciate one another’s needs, build on strengths, and make useful changes in relationships and everyday life.
Systemic Counselling and Psychotherapy can be used to explore a wide range of problems and symptoms, yet no list can capture someone’s experience exactly. Stefan acknowledges that each person, their difficulties, and their solutions are unique. Previous clients have worked on issues such as addiction, self-harm, eating disorders, anxiety, depression, trauma, coaching, health-related issues, identity, culture, spirituality, relationships, sexuality, parenting, stress at work and home, and challenges involving authorities such as Child & Family Social Services.
