Sandra Rico is a Florida-based licensed mental health counselor and a certified sex therapist with 16 years of clinical experience. She has worked with people facing a wide range of concerns, including relationship and family conflicts, parenting challenges, depression, anxiety, sexual disorders, and other emotional and behavioral issues.
She earned a Bachelor of Social Science from Florida State University in 2005 and went on to complete a Master of Science with a major in Psychology at Florida International University. Sandra became a Certified Sex Therapist in 2008 and has continued to build on that foundation throughout her career.
Sandra draws on methods from cognitive behavioral therapy, solution-focused therapy, and client-centered therapy to help clients develop practical tools and coping strategies. She works collaboratively to clarify goals and create treatment plans that support clients in taking greater control of their lives.
Her practice in Florida addresses a broad set of concerns, including LGBT issues, intimacy-related difficulties, addictions, trauma and abuse, grief, eating and sleeping disorders, anger management, self-esteem, career difficulties, bipolar disorder, coping with life changes, and ADHD.
For many common concerns – such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, or navigating life changes – online therapy has been shown to be as effective as traditional in-person care. Research and practice indicate that these types of issues often respond well to virtual sessions.
Online therapy also offers significant flexibility. Clients can connect with therapists in the format that fits their needs and schedules, including video calls, phone sessions, live chat, or in-app messaging. This flexibility can make it easier to maintain continuity of care and to fit sessions into a busy life.
Sessions are provided by licensed professionals, and clients may request a different therapist at any time if they are looking for a better fit. For many people, online therapy provides an accessible and practical way to pursue support for everyday mental health concerns.
