Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships
Welcome to my page at BetterHelp. It’s Ok to talk.
I am a fully qualified counsellor registered with the BACP with over 4 years of professional work experience and seeking accreditation soon.
I have experience in helping clients with Depression and Anxiety, workplace burnout, stress, relationship issues, motivation, self esteem, and confidence, amongst other areas.
I have a motivational, pragmatic, solution based style, and I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion.
We can tailor a programme to suit your unique and specific needs. If you’ve never been to therapy before my Integrative training means I can use a variety of skills to suit the client, not fit the client to one specific area of expertise.
For those that know they want CBT, I am qualified to offer this on it’s own – or as many actually prefer; blend it’s greater coping skills/strategies/exercises into a more normal counselling session.
Taking the first step to seeking help can seem quite daunting but I try to make it something to actually look forward too.
My most recent experiences has been helping NHS professional staff in a time of crisis and I’m sure that they would testify to this.

Patrick Whelan is a fully qualified counsellor registered with the BACP, the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy, and brings over 4 years of professional experience to his practice. Based in the United Kingdom, he is working toward accreditation in the near future.
He has supported people with depression and anxiety, workplace burnout and stress, relationship difficulties, motivation and self-esteem concerns, and confidence-related issues, among other areas. Recent work has included helping NHS professional staff through a period of crisis.
Patrick uses a motivational, pragmatic and solution-focused approach while maintaining respect, sensitivity and compassion for each person he meets. His integrative training means he can draw on a range of therapeutic skills to suit the client rather than fitting the client to a single method. For clients who prefer cognitive behavioural therapy, he is qualified to offer CBT on its own or blended into more typical counselling sessions so coping strategies and practical exercises can be included.
He tailors programmes to fit each individual’s needs and aims to make the first step into therapy less daunting and something to look forward to.
Online therapy can be a suitable option for many common concerns, including stress, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges and transitions in life. For those issues, remote sessions are often comparable in effectiveness to traditional face-to-face work.
One of the main benefits is increased flexibility – people can connect in the way that fits their life best, whether through video calls, phone sessions, live chat or in-app messaging. That flexibility makes it easier to fit therapy around work, caregiving and other commitments.
Therapists offering online care are licensed professionals, and clients may choose to switch to a different therapist if they want a different fit. For many people, the range of communication options and the ability to continue regular sessions from wherever they are helps make therapy more accessible and easier to maintain.
