Patricia Foster is a Counselling Practitioner and a member of the BACP (UK) with 20 years of experience working in therapeutic settings. She has trained in addictions, child counselling and domestic violence, and across her career she has supported people from many different backgrounds.
Her work has included helping clients with addiction, low confidence and self-esteem, personality disorder, mental health concerns such as anxiety and depression, relationship difficulties and parenting challenges. She has also worked with many people who have experienced physical trauma or emotional abuse.
Fundamentally a person-centred counsellor, Patricia combines approaches from CBT, humanistic, motivational and solution-focused methods alongside rational-emotive therapy. She adapts sessions and the treatment plan to meet each client’s particular needs.
Patricia aims to offer a warm, compassionate, non-judgemental and safe space where clients can explore their concerns, emotions, behaviours and needs, and she works collaboratively with them to help find a better place to be.
Many people ask whether online therapy can make a real difference. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties or navigating life changes, online therapy has been shown to be comparable in effectiveness to traditional in-person sessions.
A key benefit is flexibility - clients can connect in the way that suits them best, whether that is video calls, phone sessions, live chat or in-app messaging. This flexibility can make it far easier to fit therapy into a busy life.
Therapy delivered online is provided by licensed professionals and therapists. If a client feels another therapist would be a better fit, it is possible to switch at any time.
