Prof. Michael Feldler

Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships

About

Good day and allow me to introduce myself. My name is Michael H. Feldler, I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, a trained individual, family, group, trauma, and addiction specialist. I have over thirty-four years of experience working with children, adults, and family’s in a variety of settings. In addition to my clinical training, I have worked for the past fourteen years as an instructor and supervisor to students on both an undergraduate and graduate level in a college based mental health training clinic. I am skilled in psychodynamic, client-centered, REBT, CBT, DBT, inter-relational, motivational, and family modalities. I believe in the importance of listening to what is being said, recognizing the relevance of motivation towards healing, and providing a safe and secure space to relate both thoughts and feelings. I am a trained group therapist, skilled in teaching as well as conducting sessions for individuals with trauma, addiction, and identified as a sex offender. Often times what brings you into treatment or therapy is just the tip of the iceberg and with exploration we can work on both the direct causes as well as the underlying measures towards health and personal growth. The essence of life is to feel complete, reduce loneliness, and isolation, and ultimately minimize those influences that prevent us from being “the person(s) we want to be.” I look forward to hearing from you, establishing a positive and secure relationship and working on what brings you to a helping environment.

Prof. Michael Feldler is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor practicing in New York with 38 years of clinical experience. He is trained to work with individuals, families and groups and focuses on trauma and addiction specialties while serving children, adults, and families across a variety of settings.

For the past fourteen years he has also worked as an instructor and supervisor in a college-based mental health training clinic, teaching and mentoring both undergraduate and graduate students. His clinical approach draws on psychodynamic, client-centered, rational-emotive behavior therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, inter-relational methods, motivational techniques, and family modalities.

Prof. Feldler emphasizes careful listening, understanding motivation as a force for healing, and providing a secure space for expressing both thoughts and feelings. He is a trained group therapist and has experience leading groups and clinical work with people affected by trauma, by addictive issues, and with individuals who have been identified as sex offenders.

He often finds that presenting concerns are only the visible part of deeper patterns, and he works collaboratively to address both immediate difficulties and underlying factors that support long-term wellbeing. His practice is guided by the belief that life’s aim includes feeling more whole, reducing loneliness and isolation, and minimizing forces that keep people from becoming the persons they want to be.

Prof. Feldler welcomes inquiries and looks forward to establishing a positive, professional relationship to address the issues that bring someone to therapy.

Is Online Therapy the Right Step Toward Better Mental Health?

Many people ask whether remote therapy can truly help. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, or adjusting to life changes, online therapy has been shown to be comparable in effectiveness to traditional in-person care.

A major advantage is convenience. Individuals can connect with a therapist in the format that best fits their needs – by video calls, phone sessions, live chat, or in-app messaging – which makes it easier to integrate therapy into a busy life.

Sessions are provided by licensed professionals, and if a different therapeutic fit is desired, it is possible to switch therapists. For many people, online therapy offers an accessible and flexible way to engage in meaningful clinical work for everyday mental health concerns.
