Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships
Hello, my name is Michael Cotter. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and have over 7 years of professional counseling experience as well as another 8 years of paraprofessional experience in helping people achieve the change they desire. I currently work in the field of addictions and have for the past 7 years. I work not only with those who are struggling with addiction but also the other related problems it creates. This includes depression, anxiety, bi-polar, self-esteem, loneliness, abuse, stress, and family related problems. I am also a certified trauma specialist who is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Processing Therapy for trauma (CPT), and hold a Medication Assisted Recovery Specialist certificate as well.
I have a long story of overcoming my own struggles in life and personally understand just how hard it can be to reach out for help. I meet people where they are, walk through the struggle of change with them no matter how long it takes, and above all never judge anyone for where they are in life or how they got there. I offer client centered solution focused counseling that incorporates cognitive behavioral therapy, existentialism, and motivational interviewing.

Many people want to know whether online therapy can really help. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, and adjusting to life changes, evidence shows that remote therapy can be as effective as traditional in-person sessions.
One major benefit is flexibility – clients can choose the format that feels most comfortable, whether that is video sessions, phone calls, live chat, or in-app messaging. This variety makes it easier to integrate therapy into a busy schedule and to access support from wherever one is located.
All therapists offering these services are licensed professionals, and clients have the option to change therapists if they want a different fit. For many people, online therapy provides a practical, accessible way to work on mental health and life challenges with a qualified therapist.
