Megan Beecham is a licensed professional counselor in Louisiana with six years of clinical experience working with people who have dual diagnoses. Her experience includes treating depression, anxiety, personality disorders, substance abuse disorders, schizoaffective disorder, schizophrenia, and bipolar disorder, and she has provided both group and individual therapy focused on family of origin issues, depression, substance use, grief and loss, loneliness, relationship concerns, trauma and abuse, and struggles around finding purpose.
Before returning to school for counseling, she worked with clients and their partners affected by HIV/AIDS. Megan practices from a person-centered perspective, valuing each client as the expert of their own life and helping them identify personal strengths that support new ways of addressing persistent problems.
In sessions she encourages active participation and often incorporates experiential approaches so clients can process experiences in the here and now. She aims to meet each person where they are in their journey toward change and greater fulfillment. Megan holds a Louisiana professional counselor license (LA LPC 7598) and offers a respectful, collaborative therapeutic relationship for those seeking support.
Many people wonder whether remote counseling can really help. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, or navigating life changes, online therapy has been shown to be comparable in effectiveness to traditional in-person care.
One major benefit is flexibility - clients can connect in the way that suits them best, whether that is a video call, a phone session, live chat, or in-app messaging. This adaptability makes it easier to incorporate therapy into busy schedules and to access support from different locations.
All participating therapists are licensed professionals, and clients have the option to switch therapists if they feel a different fit would be more helpful. For many people, online therapy offers an accessible and practical path to addressing everyday mental health and relationship concerns.
