Mary Boyle

Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships

About

I am a therapist with thirty years of experience. I have worked in community mental health and private practice, providing a wealth of knowledge and experience with the seriously and persistently mentally ill, along with conditions such as depression, anxiety, interpersonal conflict, and personality disorders. I have a history of couple’s therapy, although currently I am not accepting clients of this type. My approach is caring and compassionate, and I’ll want to hear about your symptoms and strategies you’ve used for dealing with them. In addition, I’ll want to know about your living situation and family of origin to get a better sense of whom you are.
I use a variety of modalities including interpersonal therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy and solution focused therapy. In addition, I’ll use other approaches, depending on what you are dealing with and what will help you in the best way possible.

I’ll look forward to meeting you soon to begin your journey of improving your life situation.

I especially enjoy working with females suffering with low self esteem, codependency, life adjustment and relationship issues.

Some additional points:

If you have had suicidal thoughts, with or without intent, within the past year, my recommendation is that you seek more intensive treatment than online therapy.

I understand that all of us have emergencies and are sometimes late for an appointment. If you are late, I will wait for you for ten minutes, but after that, I will ask you to reschedule so you get the benefits of your whole session. I also expect you to attend your appointments. We all have emergencies; but, with that said, if you no show or cancel without 48 hours advance notice more than once, I will ask you to be reassigned to another therapist.

About

Mary Boyle is a therapist with thirty years of clinical experience, having worked in both community mental health settings and private practice. She brings substantial knowledge treating serious and persistent mental illness as well as conditions such as depression, anxiety, interpersonal conflict, and personality disorders.

She holds professional credentials in two states: licensed in Florida as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (FL LMHC MH18501) and in Pennsylvania as a Licensed Professional Counselor (PA LPC PC000170). Mary is based in Florida and offers care informed by decades of practice.

Her approach is caring and compassionate. She will want to learn about current symptoms and the strategies a person has already used to manage them. Understanding a client’s living situation and family of origin is also part of how she clarifies who someone is and what support might help most.

Mary uses a range of therapeutic methods, including interpersonal therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and solution-focused therapy, and she selects other approaches as appropriate to the issues a client brings and the outcomes they hope to achieve.

She has a history of working with couples, though she is not currently accepting couples therapy clients. Mary especially enjoys working with female clients who struggle with low self-esteem, codependency, life adjustments, and relationship concerns.

Mary advises that anyone who has experienced suicidal thoughts, with or without intent, within the past year should consider more intensive treatment than online therapy. She also recognizes that emergencies occur and has a practical policy for appointments: she will wait up to ten minutes for late arrivals, after which she will ask that the session be rescheduled so clients can receive the full benefit of their time. Mary expects clients to attend scheduled sessions; if a client no-shows or cancels without 48 hours advance notice more than once, she will request reassignment to another therapist.

She looks forward to meeting new clients and beginning work on improving their life situation.

Is Online Therapy the Right Step Toward Better Mental Health?

Many people wonder whether remote counseling can truly help. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, or navigating life changes, online therapy has been shown to be as effective as traditional in-person sessions for most people.

One major benefit is convenience. Clients can connect in the way that suits them best – via video calls, phone sessions, live chat, or in-app messaging – making it easier to fit therapy into a busy schedule.

Every therapist available through these services is a licensed professional, and individuals are free to change therapists if they want a different fit. Online options make it simpler to access experienced care without sacrificing the quality of treatment for many common mental health needs.
