Marie Milnes is a registered Counsellor and Psychotherapist accredited by the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). She has 12 years of clinical experience working in the United Kingdom, supporting adults - including couples - as well as young people and children, and has more recently practised as a Psychotherapist.
Over a decade of work with a wide range of clients has given Marie experience across many presenting issues. Her practice has included work with domestic, sexual, physical and emotional abuse, anger, anxiety, bereavement, bullying, self-harm and suicidal thoughts, stress, trauma and PTSD, relationship difficulties, and low self-esteem and confidence.
Working from a person-centred perspective, Marie offers a non-judgmental, understanding and sensitive therapeutic relationship that allows clients to explore emotions and feelings at their own pace. The therapy process she provides aims to foster increased awareness and understanding of personal experiences, helping new patterns of thought and behaviour to emerge and offering a renewed sense of strength, freedom and empowerment.
Many people ask whether remote therapy can truly help. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship problems or navigating life changes, online therapy has been found to be as effective as traditional face-to-face sessions for most people.
One major benefit is flexibility - clients can choose the mode of contact that suits them best, whether that is a video call, a phone session, live chat or in-app messaging. This flexibility makes it easier to fit therapy into busy lives and to access support when needed.
Therapists offering remote sessions are licensed professionals, and clients may change therapists if they would prefer a different fit. Online therapy can be a practical and effective option for many seeking help with everyday mental health and relationship concerns.
