Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships
I am a licensed clinical social worker with 10 years experience helping individuals through various hardships and stages of life. I specialize in treating anxiety, depression, relationship issues (co-dependency, attachment wounds), trauma, and other conditions. I am currently licensed in Washington DC and Colorado, with plans to obtain licensure in other states. I have worked in a variety of non profit and hospital settings, as well as in private practice.
My therapy style is compassionate and precise, yet I also challenge clients to come up against their growth edges so that they can experience the breakthroughs that they came to therapy for. I apply a mindfulness based somatic approach with my clients to allow them a chance to develop skills to bring greater awareness to their thoughts, emotions and bodily experience. I also combine a cognitive behavioral approach with a psychodynamic perspective because I believe that looking into family system dynamics as well as early life attachment wounding helps to be able to transform any dysfunctional patterning into beliefs and behaviors that serve you.
I will allow you as the client to take the lead on your process, while providing collaboration and support every step of the way to ensure that you meet your goals. I look forward to working with you!

Maria (“Mali”) Jimenez is a licensed clinical social worker licensed to practice in Colorado and Washington, DC with 7 years of experience supporting people through a variety of life phases and challenges.
She works with a wide range of concerns including stress, anxiety, relationship issues such as co-dependency and attachment wounds, trauma and abuse, self-esteem, depression, addictions, LGBT-related matters, family conflicts, grief, intimacy-related issues, eating and sleeping disorders, parenting challenges, anger management, career difficulties, bipolar disorder, coping with life changes, coaching needs, and compassion fatigue.
Maria approaches therapy with compassion and clarity, offering care that is gentle yet direct. She integrates a mindfulness-based somatic approach to help clients develop awareness of thoughts, emotions, and bodily experience. That somatic work is combined with cognitive behavioral strategies and a psychodynamic lens – attending to family system dynamics and early attachment wounds – so that clients can transform patterns into more helpful beliefs and behaviors.
Her background includes work in nonprofit and hospital settings as well as private practice. Maria allows clients to lead their process while providing collaborative support to help them meet their goals, and she welcomes the opportunity to work with new clients seeking change.
Many people wonder whether remote counseling can truly help. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, or navigating life transitions, online therapy has been shown to be comparable in effectiveness to traditional in-person care.
A major benefit is convenience and flexibility – clients can connect in the format that fits their life, whether by video call, phone, live chat, or in-app messaging. This flexibility makes it easier to keep consistent appointments and integrate therapeutic work into a busy schedule.
Licensed professionals provide online services, and it is possible to change therapists if a different clinical fit is desired. For many individuals seeking support for everyday mental health and relationship challenges, online therapy is a practical and effective option.
