Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships
Hello!
My name is Kate and I’m a qualified, BACP registered, integrative counsellor/psychotherapist with 9 years counselling experience. My aim for setting up a therapy practice was to provide help and support to those who are struggling with life’s challenges.
Do you feel as though something in your life isn’t right? Maybe you’ve found yourself at a crossroads, unsure of where to go next. You might want support with reaching a decision, or facing your past. You might be looking to address relational or behavioural patterns, or want someone to help you cope through a current crisis. It might be none of those things.
It could be difficult to explain, and others don’t seem to understand:- all you know is that you don’t want to feel like it anymore, and you want things to be different.
It can be really difficult to open up to someone about something that is deeply personal, which is why I will take the process at your own pace, offering an impartial and confidential space.
If you’ve never been to counselling before; you might be feeling nervous or apprehensive, so it could be reassuring to know what to expect.
On the first session I may ask what your hopes, fears and expectations are about therapy so I will know how to support you. It’s a good opportunity for you to take charge, and tell me as much as you can about what you want (or don’t want!) from therapy so you can achieve the best outcome. This process is on-going, and I welcome questions and feedback throughout the duration.
Feel free to contact me if you’d like to know more, or to book a first session and see if we are a good fit for working together.

Katherine Smalldon is a qualified, BACP registered (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) integrative counsellor and psychotherapist with nine years of counselling experience. She established her practice to offer practical help and supportive therapy to people facing life’s difficulties.
She works with individuals who feel something in their life is not right – those who have reached a crossroads and are unsure where to turn next, people looking for support to make decisions or to face the past, and those wanting to address relational or behavioural patterns or manage a current crisis. It may also be that none of these descriptions fit exactly.
When it is hard to explain what is going on and others do not seem to understand, the common thread is a desire to stop feeling the way you do and to create change.
Opening up about deeply personal issues can feel daunting. Katherine takes the pace from the client’s point of view and provides an impartial, confidential space to explore what matters most.
In initial sessions she may ask about hopes, fears and expectations for therapy so she can understand how best to support the work. This is also a chance for clients to set out what they want – or don’t want – from therapy. The process is ongoing and she welcomes questions and feedback throughout.
Clients who would like to know more or book a first session are invited to make contact to see whether they are a good fit to work together.
Many people ask whether online therapy can genuinely help. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, or navigating life changes, online therapy has been shown to be just as effective as traditional in-person sessions.
One major benefit is convenience and flexibility – clients can connect in the way that suits them best, using video calls, phone sessions, live chat or in-app messaging. That flexibility often makes it easier to fit therapy into a busy life.
All therapists offering online sessions are licensed professionals, and clients have the option to change therapists if they would prefer a different fit. Online therapy can be a practical and effective way to access support while maintaining continuity with a therapist who meets individual needs.
