Joseph Paglia is a licensed clinical social worker in Georgia (GA LCSW CSW004612) with 25 years of experience providing counseling to children, teens, and adults.
Raised with clear guidance from his parents, he recalls that his mother taught him and his brothers to never hate while his father repeatedly urged them to “Listen.” Those early lessons helped guide him into a career dedicated to helping others.
He believes people seek counseling to be accepted, validated, and heard, and he draws on trauma-focused CBT and DBT-based approaches along with crisis management skills to support clients. His areas of practice include spirituality and Catholicism, LGBTQI concerns, sexuality, KINK and BDSM and other alternative lifestyles, and work with sex and adult ( Porn ) entertainment workers.
Paglia has experience assisting people with LGBT-related issues, relationship challenges, trauma and abuse, and coping with grief and loss. He approaches therapy from the perspective that each person is the expert on their own story and that their strengths help them face difficult challenges.
Recognizing that taking the first step toward a more fulfilling and happier life requires courage, he positions himself as a supportive partner in that process. Outside of work he enjoys dogs, Gaga, baking, EDM, DragRace, and time at the gym.
Many people wonder whether meeting with a therapist online can actually help. For everyday concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, or adjusting to life changes, online therapy has been shown to be comparable in effectiveness to conventional in-person care.
One major benefit is the flexibility it offers - clients can connect in the format that suits them best, whether by video call, phone session, live chat, or in-app messaging. That range of options often makes it easier to fit therapy into a busy schedule.
Sessions are provided by licensed professionals, and if someone feels another clinician would be a better fit they have the option to change therapists at any time.
