Jo Ahmed

Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships

About

Hello and a warm welcome to you.

I’m Jo, a counselling therapist (MBACP) based in the U.K.

Often finding the right therapist can be harder than starting therapy. I work collaboratively with you, bridging gaps & bringing understanding. Creating a supportive environment, where you feel accepted and able to explore your thoughts & feelings.

My role is to be with you with genuine congruence and empathy. I explain (jargon free!) and answer questions that come up along the way helping to keep my clients at the centre of their process.

I have a varied background in private and public sectors with my interest and expertise being work related stress, family trauma, burnout, chronic conditions and the lack of representation and spaces for intersectional individuals. It can be hard enough talking about your experiences without having to reiterate and break down differences. I bring understanding, not assumptions to your sessions.

I also work with clients who need help with general mental health concerns; offering both short and long-term sessions dependent on your needs. Do have a look at the areas I work with on my profile to see if I can help.

Although I have an understanding of various therapeutic processes and may draw from them in my work; I am Person Centered. What is Person Centered? Well, in a nutshell it’s therapy that puts emphasis on your experience and given the right therapeutic environment, capacity for healing.

Carl Rogers (American Psychologist, founder of Person Centered Theory) is quoted to have said:

“The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change.”

Is Online Therapy the Right Step Toward Better Mental Health?

Many people wonder whether online therapy can genuinely help. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, or navigating life changes, online therapy has been shown to be just as effective as traditional in-person sessions. One of the main benefits is flexibility – people can connect in the way that suits them best, whether by video call, phone session, live chat, or in-app messaging. This range of options makes it easier to fit therapy into a busy life and maintain regular engagement. All therapists involved are licensed professionals, and if someone needs a different fit they have the option to switch to another therapist. Online therapy can be a practical, accessible way to get support for many everyday mental health concerns.
