Jessica Rigby is a qualified therapist registered with the BACP. She completed a BACP-accredited Diploma of Higher Education and extended her training with an additional year to gain a BA (Hons) degree in Person-Centred Counselling.
With five years of experience working with clients, she welcomes people from a wide range of backgrounds and addresses the concerns that are most important to them.
Entering the profession as a mature student, Jessica brings a breadth of life experience to her work and has supported people with issues including sexuality, consensual non-monogamy, personality disorders, anxiety and depression.
She describes herself as open-minded and liberal, and she offers a non-judgmental space in which whatever is brought to a session can be explored safely.
Her counselling style is friendly, inquisitive and caring. Jessica aims to create an environment that helps clients share what has led them to seek support. She does not provide ready-made solutions, believing clients are the experts on their own experience. Instead she accompanies them as they explore their story, offering empathy and affirmation so they can find a way forward that works for them.
She looks forward to hearing from prospective clients.
Many people wonder whether online therapy can really help. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, or navigating life changes, evidence indicates that online therapy can be as effective as traditional in-person sessions.
A major benefit of remote therapy is flexibility - you can choose the way of connecting that suits you best, whether that is video calls, phone sessions, live chat or in-app messaging. This makes it easier to fit therapy into a busy life.
Therapists offering online work are licensed professionals, and if you decide the fit is not right you can switch to another therapist at any time. For many people, online therapy provides an accessible and practical route to support that aligns with their needs and lifestyle.
