Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships
Hi! You just made the single HARDEST and MOST IMPORTANT decision to feel better by asking for help.
My name is Jennifer. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and have been providing supportive counseling for around 20 years. This means I will listen to you, your problems, and challenges, so I can learn to better understand you. By understanding what you need and hope to accomplish, I will be able to help you with your current life challenges. This will help us to work towards making improvements that will help you feel better about yourself right away and in the future. How does that sound to you?
Initially, in therapy, it might seem like therapy is going slow as you share your experiences and I learn to understand your feelings and ideas. Hopefully, I will be able to provide some calming exercises, as well as some “short-term solutions” that will help you feel better right away. It is hard to function daily when you are feeling anxious and stressed and cannot concentrate on daily activities.
Life can seem so confusing and hard to navigate sometimes. Even though it feels like you are alone, you are not. Many people go through different stages in life and have trouble “finding their way”. You may find it helpful to know that I have experience being the “client” in a “counseling relationship” and I was very choosy about what I looked for in my therapist/counselor. I am a person who needs to know I can say absolutely anything to my counselor, and they will not think any less of me. I need to feel understood, validated, and that my therapist is genuinely concerned for my well-being. I hope you know I will be here for you in the same way. Together we can work towards understanding why you feel certain ways, finding peace and contentment in your life now and in your future. If all this sounds like a plan you would like to work on, let me know, and we can begin as soon as you like. I am looking forward to helping you feel better! Jennifer Reed-Grimmett is a Licensed Professional Counselor practicing in West Virginia with 24 years of experience supporting people through a wide range of life challenges. She offers a calm, straightforward approach that focuses on understanding each person’s concerns and helping them make immediate, practical improvements while building skills for the future.
Jennifer works with stress, anxiety and panic, trauma and abuse, relationship and family conflicts, parenting concerns, depression, addictions, grief, intimacy-related issues, sleep difficulties, anger management, self-esteem struggles, career problems, bipolar disorder, ADHD, and challenges tied to life changes. She also brings experience in compassion fatigue, somatic and personality-related concerns, and counseling for law enforcement, grounded in a background in criminal justice, including a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice and an associate degree in Law Enforcement.
Her therapeutic style is warm and engaged, blending coaching and practical tools with a collaborative, non-judgmental stance. Jennifer emphasizes teamwork in setting goals, uses plain language rather than clinical jargon, and aims to provide short-term strategies that relieve distress while working toward longer-term growth.
Jennifer also speaks from personal experience, having been a counseling client herself. That perspective influenced what she values in therapy: the ability to speak openly, feel heard, and receive genuine validation. She brings that same stance to her work with clients, offering steady support as they explore why they feel as they do and pursue greater peace and well-being.
For many common concerns – including stress, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, and navigating life transitions – online therapy can be as effective as traditional in-person sessions. Research and clinical experience support its usefulness for these types of issues.
One major benefit is flexibility. People can choose the format that fits their needs and schedule, whether that is a video call, a phone session, live chat, or in-app messaging. That variety makes it easier to attend sessions consistently and integrate therapy into a busy life.
Licensed professionals provide online therapy, and clients who wish to try a different therapist may switch if they feel a different fit would help. Overall, online therapy offers an accessible way to receive professional help for common mental health and life concerns while preserving many of the core elements of traditional therapy.
