Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships
I’m a down to earth, understanding, empathetic and compassionate therapist with a holistic and integrative approach to therapy. I walk with you in connecting your past experiences with todays’ concerns and support you on the journey to feeling confident in managing and talking about your emotions, as well as understanding why and who you are today.
I combine psychotherapy, Person Centred Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and other approaches to ease the process and guide you towards making the decisions that you feel are right for you.
I have worked as in integrative Counselling Psychotherapist in the UK for over 6 years and have significant experience in helping clients with a wide range of concerns such as trauma, abuse, relationships, depression, anxiety, fostering, parenting, motivation, self-esteem, confidence… the list really goes on!
I work with my clients to create an open and safe environment where thoughts and feelings can be shared. With me, you can feel accepted and valued for who you are without fear of being judged. With mutual trust and openness, you will know that you have not just been listened to, but also heard. Taking the first step to sign up for therapy can take courage so well done, and I am proud of you for getting started!
What do I love about counselling:
Apart from the obvious response of being able to help others on their journey through life, I most enjoy the moment a client makes the connection between a past experience and current behaviour. Such a game changer.
That said, what I love the most about counselling is the Pandoras Box it opens. As a client you may come to talk about one particular issue, but once that box opens..!
Other Interests outside Counselling:
I enjoy creative arts so in my spare time you will find me either painting, or morphing into my sofa watching a film.
I am keen on supporting my community and have sat on several boards including two schools, Rape Crisis, and a local community centre.
I was also a foster mother for around 10 years.

Gwennie Lewis is a down-to-earth, understanding and compassionate therapist who uses a holistic, integrative approach to support people through emotional challenges. She helps clients connect past experiences with present concerns and guides them toward greater confidence in recognising, expressing and managing their emotions.
Gwennie blends psychotherapy with Person Centred Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and other complementary approaches to make the therapeutic process accessible and practical. Her aim is to help each person find the decisions and coping strategies that feel right for them.
She has worked in the United Kingdom for over six years as an integrative counselling psychotherapist and has significant experience supporting people with trauma and abuse, relationship difficulties, depression, anxiety, fostering and parenting concerns, motivation, self-esteem and confidence, among other issues.
In sessions Gwennie creates an open, safe space where thoughts and feelings can be shared without judgement. Clients are treated with acceptance and respect, and Gwennie emphasises mutual trust and openness so that people feel genuinely listened to and understood. She also acknowledges the courage it takes to begin therapy and offers supportive encouragement for that first step.
What Gwennie values most about counselling is the moment a client links a past experience with a current pattern of behaviour – a connection that can be transformative. She also appreciates how exploring one issue often opens other important areas for reflection and growth.
Outside of counselling she enjoys creative arts, including painting, and relaxing with films. Gwennie is active in her community and has served on several boards, including two schools, a Rape Crisis organisation and a local community centre. She was a foster mother for around ten years.
Gwennie’s qualifications include a Level 5 Professional Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling (advanced clinical training), a Level 3 Certificate in Integrated Counselling (certified training in integrated counselling), a Level 3 Diploma in Psychoanalytical Psychology (study in psychoanalytical theory) and a Certificate in CBT for Depression, Anxiety, Panic Attacks and Phobias. She holds individual membership of the National Counselling & Psychotherapy Society (NCPS) and organisational membership of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). She identifies as a female, non-religious therapist of color.
Many people wonder whether remote therapy can truly help. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties or navigating life changes, research and practice show that online therapy can be as effective as in-person sessions for most people.
One major benefit is flexibility – clients can connect in the way that suits them best, whether by video call, phone session, live chat or in-app messaging. This range of options makes it easier to fit therapy into a busy life and to choose the format that feels most comfortable.
Therapists offering online appointments are licensed professionals, and if someone decides they would prefer a different match they can switch therapists at any time. Online therapy provides a practical, accessible route to support that can work alongside other steps someone may be taking for their mental health.
