I’m a registered counsellor and psychotherapist – I support individuals and couples with their emotional wellbeing. I have private sector experience as a counsellor and psychotherapist. I work with each client uniquely, appreciating their cultures and beliefs and I have remained non- judgemental.
I have ten years’ experience offer support to bereaved relatives, carers or friends of those who have died in the care of the hospice who are finding it difficult to cope with their grief. . I work with clients addressing issues relating to the loss, shock, disorganization, reorganization and recovery.
I have five experience working work couples dealing with conflicts, communication issues, infidelity, unforgiveness and money issues.
Over the years I have supported with their anxiety, depression , relationship issues.
I have three approaches I use in working with clients, my practical approach is centred in Person Centre model which I feel facilitate good therapeutic relationship with the core conditions, I create an environment that allows growth. I use Psychodynamic to create an awareness of past behaviour and attitudes that are playing out in present relationship. It help gives an understanding on how this learnt past behaviour is interfering with present relationships in the area of communicating their needs and get their needs met and CBT to encourage working alliance and to challenge thinking that is holding them back. I have always been able to build a professional relationship, maintaining boundaries and promoting a non-judgemental attitude. Also confidentiality is an important part of my work.
Counselling
