About

Hello! My name is Emily Myers and I am a licensed professional clinical counselor through the state of Ohio. I have over 14 years in the counseling profession and over 20 years of work experience in customer service or a helping occupation. I graduated from Youngstown State University with a Bachelor’s in Early Childhood Education. I taught preschool for a few years and decided to go back for my Master’s in Community Counseling from the same university. I graduated in 2009 summa cum laude. Since then, I have held a variety of positions in the counseling field including depression, anxiety, substance abuse, children and family centered jobs. I tend to have an eclectic approach to counseling based on what the client is wanting from the services. I use a lot of client centered, solution focused, and cognitive behavioral techniques. My sessions are always client driven with what the client is wanting to discuss or work on at that time. I’m excited to have this opportunity to work with you!

Is Online Therapy the Right Choice for Your Mental Health Journey?

Many people wonder whether online therapy can truly help. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, and navigating life changes, online therapy has been shown to be comparably effective to traditional in-person care. A major benefit of remote counseling is flexibility – clients can connect in the format that fits their needs and comfort level, whether by video call, phone, live chat, or in-app messaging. That flexibility makes it easier to fit therapy into a busy schedule or to access support from different locations. Licensed professionals deliver online therapy, and clients may switch therapists if they feel a different fit would be better. For many people facing everyday mental health challenges, online therapy is a practical and effective option for receiving consistent professional support.
