Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships
I am a Licensed Psychotherapist in the state of New York, with 35+ years of professional experience in the Human Services, Behavioral, and Mental health fields.. My specializations are in the areas of Mental Health Counselling and Community Psychology. In addition, over the years, previous certification in alcohol and substance abuse counselling (CASAC), supported my work with diverse population group members, who used substances as a way to manage difficult emotional challenges such as anxiety, depression, and past and current social determinants. Race-based and unhealed intergenerational/family trauma, along with Decolonization Therapy is a focus of my work as well. I believe in treating everyone with respect, cultural humility, and compassion. You and I together, will tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs. Taking the first step to seeking a more fulfilling and happier life takes courage. I am here to support you in that process.

Prof. Elnora Harrison is a licensed psychotherapist practicing in New York with more than 35 years of experience in human services, behavioral health, and mental health fields. Her work centers on mental health counseling and community psychology, and she brings decades of practice to clients facing stress, anxiety, relationship difficulties, trauma and abuse, grief, and concerns within LGBT communities.
Earlier in her career she earned certification in alcohol and substance abuse counseling (CASAC), which informed her work with diverse people who sometimes used substances to cope with difficult emotions such as anxiety and depression as well as with challenges arising from past and current social determinants. Race-based and intergenerational or family trauma are important focal points in her practice, and she incorporates Decolonization Therapy as part of that focus.
Prof. Harrison approaches people with cultural humility, respect, and compassion, and she collaborates with each individual to tailor dialogue and a treatment plan to their unique needs. She recognizes that reaching out for a more fulfilling, happier life requires courage, and she offers supportive guidance through that process.
Many people ask whether online therapy can truly help, and for common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, or adjusting to life changes, remote therapy is often as effective as traditional in-person sessions. Research and practice have shown comparable outcomes for these typical issues.
One major benefit is flexibility – clients can choose the mode of communication that feels most comfortable, whether video, phone, live chat, or in-app messaging. This range of options makes it easier to schedule and maintain regular sessions alongside work, family, and other commitments.
Licensed professionals provide care through these channels, and if someone feels a different therapeutic fit is needed, it is possible to switch therapists. For many people, the combination of evidence-based effectiveness and practical convenience makes online therapy a viable option for moving toward improved well-being.
