Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships
Using a wide network of approaches I intend to make therapy a unique and tailored process for my clients. I began my career in clinical environments, where I observed many individuals with many different challenging behaviours. Though where others saw a problem I saw it as just that; a challenge. Inherently I knew that these patients did not want to act this way, nor feel the way they feel. I volunteered and became an honorary assistant psychologist at many hospitals, and using what I had learnt from my undergrad in psychology, attempted to absorb as much information about some of the treatments these hospitals used. But it wasn’t enough, and I needed to know more about the process of helping others using psychological theory. That’s when I underwent my masters in counselling and psychotherapy and with that a new respect for a wider array of treatment styles. Here I learnt language skills, assessment criteria and of course; how to use what I knew at that time to become the best counsellor I could be.
I am extremely passionate about my work, as to me, I couldn’t see myself in this world doing anything else.
I use an integrative method for my clients, which means I use the appropriate method/approach for the individual. I like to reinforce that tailor-made aspect of my therapy with my clients, to firmly delve into the issue or challenge at hand and to explore it from the best perspective. And ultimately, that’s how I see therapy, I am not an expect on all things emotion and thought, I merely act as a guide for you, as ultimatly you are the expect of yourself.

Declan Kent draws on a wide network of therapeutic approaches to make therapy a tailored process for each client. He began his career in clinical environments, where he encountered many people presenting varied and challenging behaviours. Where others saw a problem he viewed it as a challenge to be understood and addressed.
Early in his path he volunteered and served as an honorary assistant psychologist at several hospitals, applying knowledge from his undergraduate studies in psychology to observe and learn about the treatments used in those settings. Seeking a deeper understanding of how psychological theory informs practice, he completed a master’s in counselling and psychotherapy.
Through postgraduate training he developed practical skills in assessment and clinical language, and integrated that learning with his prior experience to refine his approach as a counsellor. He uses an integrative method, selecting the approaches that best fit the individual client and the presenting issue.
Declan is deeply committed to his work and could not imagine doing anything else. He emphasises a tailor-made process, helping clients explore the challenge at hand from the most useful perspectives. He does not present himself as an expert on every emotional experience; instead he acts as a guide, recognising that clients are the experts on themselves.
Many people wonder whether online therapy can truly help. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, or coping with life changes, online therapy has been shown to be comparable in effectiveness to traditional in-person care.
An important benefit is flexibility – clients can connect in the way that suits them best, whether by video calls, phone sessions, live chat, or in-app messaging. This range of options can make it easier to fit therapy around work, family, and other commitments.
Each therapist is a licensed professional, and clients have the option to change therapists if they feel a different fit would be better. Online therapy can be a practical and effective path for many people seeking support with everyday mental health concerns.
