Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships
I became a person-centred psychotherapeutic counsellor because I love being a part of, and witnessing someone’s emotional and psychological recovery. As humans, what connects us I believe is the desire to receive unconditional love and respect. I believe that the counselling relationship offers a unique opportunity to experience someone who can empathise with us in a genuine, authentic relationship, whether or not we have serious problems or crises. I have been practising as a counsellor for 10 years. I mainly work with people who have experienced the trauma of relational abuse, whether that be in childhood or as an adult, but am also happy to work with you on other issues if you would like to contact me.
The counselling relationship can offer a freedom that we may not find in other relationships – having someone to listen to us without judging, taking over and telling us what to do, what to think, how to be; and not having to feel that we are burdening friends or family unreasonably with our worries and concerns.
Counselling can offer the time, freedom and space to explore our problems and be trusted and helped to find our own solutions and strategies, to work out what feels right to do, or where to go next. Talking things through with me, as a trained, qualified and experienced counsellor, will usually help you to get clarification or resolution.
I also supervise other counsellors and psychotherapists, and write the Rainbow Therapy Tools guides book series available on Amazon.
I am a Member of the British Association for Counsellors and Psychotherapists (MBACP). I am also a member of the Person-centred Association.

Claire Field is a person-centred psychotherapeutic counsellor who values being present for and witnessing emotional and psychological recovery. She believes that at the heart of human connection is a wish to receive unconditional love and respect, and she sees the counselling relationship as a place where genuine empathy and authentic understanding can be experienced.
Working mainly with people who have suffered relational abuse in childhood or adulthood, Claire offers a steady, non-directive presence to help clients explore their feelings and histories. She is also open to working with other concerns if contacted.
Claire believes counselling can provide a kind of freedom not always available in other relationships – an opportunity to be heard without judgement, without being told what to do, and without feeling like a burden to friends or family. In that space clients can take time to reflect, identify their own solutions and strategies, and consider what feels right next.
As a trained, qualified and experienced counsellor, Claire aims to help people reach clarity or resolution through thoughtful conversation. She also supervises other counsellors and psychotherapists and has authored the Rainbow Therapy Tools guides book series, which is available on Amazon.
Claire is a Member of the British Association for Counsellors and Psychotherapists (MBACP) and of the Person-centred Association. She practises in the United Kingdom and has 13 years of experience in therapeutic work.
