About

About me and my therapy practice

I am a qualified counsellor with over 18 years’ experience, offering person centred counselling to children, young people and adults. Counselling offers you the support system that allows you to speak in whatever way you need to in order to find healing and I provide a safe space to be able to speak your truth without being interrupted, judged or dismissed.
Counselling can help everyone to improve their daily lives. It can be hard sifting through your emotions on your own, so having that person there who will support you, to understand your feelings and gain some clarity around your emotions and feelings can help you and the process.
Deciding to see a counsellor is itself an act of bravery as it can be difficult to talk to strangers about your struggles especially if you feel as though they are unimportant in the larger scheme of life.
My approach is Person Centred, placing you at the centre of the sessions. We will look at what you can do, not your condition and supporting you to achieve your aspirations with the therapy being tailored to your needs and unique circumstances.
My experience is extensive and during my counselling career I have set up and managed a voluntary youth counselling service supporting 11yr olds to 25yr olds. Working with young people to find relief from problems and distress and to help promote the well being of those seeking help.
Most recently I have also been supporting the LGBTQ+ community via The Black Trans Foundation and I am on the Gendered Intelligence directory of counsellors. I completed a 2-day counsellor/therapist course: Working alongside Trans, Gender Diverse and Questioning People through the Gendered Intelligence training programme. I am on their therapist directory and have supported several clients via this pathway. I am continuing to develop my work in this area, and I am a dedicated ally to this community. Having strong personal ties through my friendship groups and being involved in various activities. I have seen over the years the difficulty faced by black people and trans people, particularly the black trans community, and it is because of this I have had the pleasure in supporting The Black Trans Foundation and those who are accessing this therapy.

About

Cecile Terrelonge is a qualified counsellor based in the United Kingdom who brings 18 years’ experience to her person centred practice, working with children, young people and adults.

She offers a calm, non-judgemental space where people can speak openly and be heard, supporting them to explore emotions, gain clarity and work toward healing at their own pace.

Her therapeutic stance is person centred, placing the client at the heart of each session and concentrating on what the person can do rather than on a diagnostic label. Therapy is shaped to the individual’s needs and circumstances, with a focus on supporting aspirations and practical change where appropriate.

Sessions are available as short-term or longer-term work and last 50 minutes, generally held at the same day and time each week. She is able to accommodate clients who work shifts and can agree changes to appointments in advance when rota adjustments are required.

Her background includes establishing and managing a voluntary youth counselling service that supported 11 to 25-year-olds, helping young people find relief from problems and promoting wellbeing.

Cecile has also been supporting the LGBTQ+ community through work with The Black Trans Foundation and is listed on the Gendered Intelligence directory of counsellors. She completed a two-day training course titled ‘Working alongside Trans, Gender Diverse and Questioning People’ via Gendered Intelligence, has supported several clients through that pathway, and continues to develop her practice in this area as a dedicated ally.

She supports a wide range of concerns including abuse, ADD/ADHD, addictions, anger, anxiety, autism spectrum differences, bereavement, bullying, childhood trauma, chronic illness and pain, co-dependency, coping skills, cultural issues, depression, divorce and domestic abuse, health and housing issues, loss and identity questions, obsessions and OCD, personal development, phobias, PTSD, relationship difficulties, self-esteem and self-harm, sexual abuse, stress, suicidal thoughts, teen violence, trans-related issues and work-related problems.

Cecile works with children, young people, adults, older adults and couples and offers therapy in multiple formats including online counselling, telephone sessions and face-to-face meetings, with options for both short-term and long-term work.

Is Online Therapy the Right Choice for Your Mental Health Journey?

For many common concerns – such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties or navigating life changes – online therapy has been shown to be just as effective as traditional in-person sessions. It can offer a practical way to access support when face-to-face meetings are difficult to arrange.

One of the main advantages is flexibility. People can connect with a therapist using the format that suits them best – video calls, phone sessions, live chat or in-app messaging – which makes it easier to fit therapy into a busy life.

Each therapist involved in online work is a licensed professional, and clients have the option to change therapists if they feel a different fit would be more helpful. For many, online therapy provides a convenient, effective route to getting consistent emotional support and progressing toward their goals.
