Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor/Art Therapist and I have a wide range of experience working with clients of all ages. I have worked with children in special education, elderly adults in hospice, and provided art therapy as well as individual counseling to patients who suffer from addictions and/or severe and persistent mental illness.
In addition to working with psychiatric patients, I have provided education to family members through the National Alliance of Mental Illness. As an Qualified Mental Health Professional at Truman Medical Center in KC, MO I have worked with some of the most difficult cases in the community and also have personal experience with family members who suffer from mental illness. Having both professional and personal experience has made me very aware of how difficult it is to navigate mental health services for yourself or for a loved one when trying to access help for mental illness.
As for my therapeutic approaches, I consider myself to be open minded, flexible, and willing to provide whatever would be best suited for each client I work with. I have a humanistic approach and can provide Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Existential Therapy, Client Centered Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Internal Family Systems, and Art Therapy.

Angela Kieler is a Missouri-licensed professional counselor and trained art therapist with 18 years of clinical experience. She has worked across the lifespan, providing support to children in special education programs, offering art therapy and counseling to patients with addictions and severe, persistent mental illness, and caring for elderly adults in hospice settings.
Her work has included educating family members through the National Alliance on Mental Illness and serving as a Qualified Mental Health Professional at Truman Medical Center in Kansas City, Missouri, where she assisted with some of the community’s most challenging cases. In addition to her professional background, she also brings personal experience supporting family members who live with mental illness, an insight that informs her understanding of how hard it can be to access and navigate mental health services.
Angela approaches therapy with an open mind and flexibility, tailoring methods to each client’s needs. She draws on a humanistic foundation and offers Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Existential Therapy, Client-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Internal Family Systems, and Art Therapy to help clients address stress, anxiety, relationship concerns, trauma, mood disorders, addictions, and other life challenges.
Many people wonder whether online therapy can actually help. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, and major life adjustments, research and clinical experience indicate that remote therapy can be as effective as meeting in person.
One key benefit is convenience – clients can connect with therapists in the way that best fits their routines and comfort level, whether by video call, phone session, live chat, or in-app messaging. This flexibility makes it easier to attend sessions consistently and integrate care into a busy life.
Licensed professionals offer these options, and clients have the ability to change therapists if they feel a different fit would be more helpful. For many people seeking support for everyday emotional and relational concerns, online therapy provides an accessible and effective path to care.
