Holistic Jungian therapist specializing in trauma and relationships
Greetings and welcome! I’m a strong believer in synchronicity and marvel at how people find each other. I’m a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC) in the State of Utah with over 35 years of experience working with diverse populations in numerous settings. I have a B.A. degree in Psychology from the University of California, Irvine, and an M.A. degree in Counseling Psychology (Transpersonal Specialization) from John F. Kennedy University in the San Francisco Bay Area. I’m also certified in Addiction Studies and Clinical Hypnotherapy. Now living in Saint George in the serene stillness of the Mojave Desert Southwest and the red rock beauty of Snow Canyon and Zion National Park. I enjoy travel, hiking, and exploring the wonders of nature.
I see myself as a guide. We embark on a journey together as I support you to travel within and discover your inner truth and birth your authentic self. This takes courage, strength, and self-compassion. Gifts that underlie our wounding in the process of healing. Learning to hear and trust our intuition and ourselves is a lifelong process. As is full creative expression. I’m interested in helping you identify what’s skillful in you and discovering and improving what’s unskillful. My nonjudgemental approach is warm and direct. I love humor and believe laughter is the best medicine. Bringing our shadow into the light reveals the falseness of fear. Let’s celebrate!

Alan Cochrane welcomes new connections with a belief in synchronicity and an appreciation for how people find one another. He is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor in the State of Utah with more than 35 years of experience working with diverse populations across a variety of settings. He earned a B.A. in Psychology from the University of California, Irvine and an M.A. in Counseling Psychology with a Transpersonal Specialization from John F. Kennedy University. Now based in Saint George amid the quiet of the Mojave Desert Southwest and the red rock landscapes of Snow Canyon and Zion National Park, he enjoys travel, hiking, and exploring the natural world. Alan describes his role in therapy as that of a guide – accompanying clients as they turn inward to discover their inner truth and bring forth a more authentic self. He emphasizes the importance of courage, strength, and self-compassion in the healing process, and views these qualities as resources that coexist with past wounds.
Alan supports clients in learning to hear and trust their intuition and in cultivating fuller creative expression, both of which he sees as ongoing, lifelong processes. He helps identify existing skills and works to develop areas that feel less effective. His manner is warm and direct without judgment, and he values humor, believing that laughter can be a potent aid in healing. He invites clients to bring hidden parts of themselves into the light as a way to reduce fear and to celebrate growth together. He is licensed to practice in Utah, a credential that signifies his professional training and authorization (license number 116928-6004).
Many people wonder whether online therapy can truly make a difference. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, or navigating life changes, online therapy has been shown to be as effective as traditional in-person sessions.
One of the main benefits is flexibility – clients can connect in the format that suits them best, whether that is a video call, a phone session, a live chat, or in-app messaging. This range of options can make it easier to integrate therapy into a busy routine or to engage in ways that feel most comfortable.
Each therapist involved is a licensed professional, and clients may change therapists at any time if they prefer a different fit. For many people, online therapy offers an accessible, adaptable path to addressing common mental health and life concerns while working with qualified clinicians.
